| New puppy is home!!! Hi everyone! I got home around 1:30 with baby Toby, and I'm so excited. He has peed outside twice (no poop yet) and is taking a nap in his crate right now. He is definately a cuddle bug and likes his sleep He took a good drink of water when we got home, and ate 4 puppy food kibbles.... should i make him some eggs if he isn't interested in the kibble or just let him be? I'm assuming its a very hard transistion for him, but I want him to have a full belly... any suggestions? |

| How exciting. My advice is dont go messing with his little tummy right now and stick with the kibble your breeder sent you home with. If he won't eat later, you can add some (tiny bit) yogurt or cottage cheese, but I probably wouldn't do eggs right off the bat. I think the most important thing right now is to let him rest and take his time getting to you know guys. Oh, I have to add that I'm impressed you're letting him sleep in his crate, lol. When I got Ranger I couldn't put him down!!

| haha he is actually only in there cause i had to make dinner and no one else is here to watch him. i'm so paranoid on "doing things right" so i dont mess him up haha i think the reason i'm worried about him eating only 4 kibble is low sugar? when does this usually become an issue? He is such a good boy already, i'm in loooove how much do new puppies usually sleep??? |

| Congratulations on your new baby! How old is he? Can't wait to see pictures!! I agree with Amanda - give him some time to settle in, don't change his food just yet, and enjoy your puppy!

| Congratulations on your new addition. Can't wait to see pictures of your little man. Take tons of them because it's hard to remember when they were little, they grow so fast. I'm sure he will adjust it just takes time. He's a little apprehensive because he doesn't know you guys. My best advice is just to be consistant. He will get it. I also agree with the previous post I wouldn't mess with his little belly. Just make sure you have nutrical on hand. He will eat when he feels safe.

When Conner learned how to jump out of the playpen, I put him in my bed - big mistake! Now he sleeps right next to my leg (he pushes himself so he can get closer). I can't move!! But he is happy, and that's all that matters. Congratulations on your new baby, and I would love to see pictures.

| aww Congratulations on the new baby..Tobie....Can't wait to see pics!!! You got great advice....I would stick with the kibble too...When I brought Daizy home she hardly ate anything!!! But she did eat when she was hungry...I'd just make sure to have it available for him...and he will eat when he's hungry!

| You might want to add a little warm water to his kibble so he could easily eat it. It might help. A little at a time is all he will probably eat anyway.

| congratulations!!! make sure you have nutrical on hand for emergencies. eggs are ok, just make sure it is not greasy. and try to encourage the puppy to eat the food he was on with the breeders, you can make a switch later on, but not right now.

| you can also try adding some low sodium chicken broth to the kibbles, that should make it more appetizing for the puppy.
