| Those brown spots on her head...pix OK, finally got pix of those 2 brown spots on Jemma's head. First off Jemma is a Shorkie. s**tzu 1/2 and Yorkie 1/2. Her Mom is white with red markings. Daddy is typical Yorki colors, gold face, black/silver body. Now I found these 2 brown spots when I was blow drying Jemma after her bath. Hope I didn't burn her, but don't think so. It does not look like ringworm to me. It is not raised or itchy, or anything like that. The brown spot now has dark brown hair growing out of it. But it almost looks like a scar too. If you click on the pix,it will enlarge. There is a white spot on the brown. But I know it can't be a scar. She has never been hurt. Could this be Mom's hair growing thru? How weird would that look, laughing just thinking about it. If it was ringworm, I surely would have gotten it by now. Her face and head are always burrowed ino my face or neck. She is 5 months old now and 3 pounds 3 ounces. Any opinions? Nice ones now. lol Carol and my baby Jemma |

| Carol, the pictures aren't showing up in the post. Are they in your profile or did they just not show up by accident?

| I seen the photos in your album. If there's no rash and she hasn't had a bad injury there...like a deep cut, I'd say it looks like it maybe the mother's coloring coming out. My toy poodle had a bad reaction to her distemper shot once and it swelled and scabbed over. The fur in that area turned a dark tan (she's cream colored), but then it grew out and is the same color as the rest of her fur now. PS: Love the photos, Jemma is soooo beautiful!!!!

| Oh Gosh, I'm so sorry I could not figure how to put the pix here in the post. They are in my profile in her album. Thanks you so much for answering my post. Just really concerned because I want to be sure it's nothing serious. |

YT 1000 Club Member | Could it just be pigment related? If it was ringworm it would have a red crusty ring around it and the hair would fall out there. Unfortunately I know what this looks like because when my son was in like first grade he got it at school and luckily not in his hair. We had to put lotramin on it or any kind of anti fungal works but not sure about on dogs.

| Ah ha! I looked in your album and saw the pics. I agree with the above posters, it is probably not anything to worrry about, unless it becomes red, irritated or appears infected. If hair is growing there, it could possibly be the mother's color coming out. By the way, your comments on the photos, "I swear I'm not choking her" was hilarious! And the one where she's fighting the sweater......too cute!!!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Hmm I would like to see. Can you post some pics? All you have to do is write a message and click on the little staple to link your pictures up. you might have to shrink them first though.

| Those brown spots on the top of his head....he is my boy Alias Hi Jemma and everyone....Just wondering if the brown spots on Jemma's head were figured out? My boy Alias 2 1/2 has a brown spot on his head near the little bone. It's on his scalp. It's not itchy or flakey or sore or anything. It's just there and it wasn't there before..... It looks like a birth mark almost......I noticed it when I was doing his topknot about a week ago. It's right near where the elastic ( silicone ) band goes. The spot where the elastic is always slightly different. I thought maybe it could be shampoo buildup ( like cradle cap ) but no flaking. I thought maybe the elastic is too tight ( not sure on that one ). I thought maybe it's an allergic reaction to the elastics but he has worn the same ones forever. I thought maybe it's a food allergy but he eats the same food for a long time ( high quality, grain free, fish ). There is nothing I can think of that's different in his diet or environment so I'm at a loss. I will try to attach a picture but if I can't then I'll put the pictures somehow in my profile.....I'll do that in like 5 minutes. I truly hope someone has either seen this or heard of it. I don't think it's a big deal but I did make a vet app't for tomorrow. I'd rather deal with this on my own. So help me Peeps........ok here goes the attempt to attach a picture Thank you guys......I hope you can help. This is making me a bit looney. I hate when something is not quite right with Alias just like the rest of you Puppy Parents..... Vic & Alias |
