My boy Alias 2 1/2 has a brown spot on his head near the little bone. It's on his scalp. It's not itchy or flakey or sore or anything. It's just there and it wasn't there before.....
It looks like a birth mark almost......I noticed it when I was doing his topknot about a week ago. It's right near where the elastic ( silicone ) band goes. The spot where the elastic is always slightly different.
I thought maybe it could be shampoo buildup ( like cradle cap ) but no flaking. I thought maybe the elastic is too tight ( not sure on that one ). I thought maybe it's an allergic reaction to the elastics but he has worn the same ones forever. I thought maybe it's a food allergy but he eats the same food for a long time ( high quality, grain free, fish ).
There is nothing I can think of that's different in his diet or environment so I'm at a loss.
I will try to attach a picture but if I can't then I'll put the pictures somehow in my profile.....I'll do that in like 5 minutes.
I truly hope someone has either seen this or heard of it. I don't think it's a big deal but I did make a vet app't for tomorrow. I'd rather deal with this on my own.

If he's older it may be an age spot? My chihuahua has them on his head. Just pigment changes due to being senior. Vet says they don't mean anything other than a change in appearance.
