| Question about my "devil" dog... Madison is 13 weeks old. She has a section of the kitchen all too herself. This is where she stay's when I can't keep my eye on her. When I leave her out, she is great for about 10-15 mins. She nibbles all the time, but it's nothing that bothers me because it doesn't hurt at all. After the 10-15 mins, she instantly turns into a "devil" dog. For no reason at all she will start growling/barking, and biting/attacking my feet. If I tuck my feet under me she will go for my hands, or anything she can get too. I have teeth marks all over my feet and hands. Does anyone know why she does this? It's just weird too me that she's okay for a short time then changes in an instant. Thanks!!

| Sorry I have no idea why she is doing it, unless she is just thinking she is playing. If you gently but firmly (I know this is hard) flick her on the nose when she bites, and say NO then she should distinguish the difference between playing and biting. It may take some time. Also I would get a chew toy that you can play tug of war with, she may be teething and just need that interaction that tug of war gives.

| I think she is simply doing it for your attention. Just remember she is still a baby and needs a lot of your attention. Just be patient. You can start confining her for short periods of time and see how she does. Then start leaving her for longer and longer periods of time. I remember with my lil Romeo, he hated to be in his crate, but overtime got used to it. He would bark and whine but you have to let them know who's boss early on. Everytime she does something you don't like, place her in her crate and overtime she will stop doing it. These yorkies are very smart. I wouldn't recommend flicking or hitting them even if its gently. You're never required to get physical with them. Let me know if you have any other concerns, we are here to help

| My puppy did this until she was about about 8 months old. Chew toys definitely helped! When she started nipping at me or my feet (which was often) I would give her the chew toy. It took persistence, but she got it. I was also told by a friend that she would grow out of it. I wasn't sure she would, but she did! Good luck! The chew toy worked for me. |

| Also, I forgot to include that because I constantly gave her her toy, I think it helped her understand at a young age that this was the appropriate thing to chew on. She's almost two years old now and only uses her toys as chewing objects. Something else I also used at a young age was "sour apple" spray. I bought it at Petco. If she would start to chew on furniture (or even my hands) I would give it a quick spritz and she would leave it alone. Hope this helps! |

| I do give her chew toys, and the apple spray does not seem to bother her at all.

| I agree I think she is wanting to play and have your attention. You need to make a loud squeal or yell "no bite!" when she bites you and hand her a toy. Eventually she will stop. Patience is the key
