♥ Mama's Boy ♥ Donating Member | I just don't understand why?? You know how some dogs don't like cats, well do some dogs not like other breeds of dogs? For some reason when we go to the dog park, Tobie will go after Boxers and snap at their face and run after them barking, like he wants to fight them. He will not to this to any other large dogs or breeds. I do keep a leash on him if there are Boxers there and sometimes we have to leave. I just don't understand why he is doing this, so maybe ya'll can help me. Thanks

| My Toby went after any dog, big or small. Don't know why except that the previous owners allowed him to be attacked by two Golden Retrievers and I think he has a fear of larger dogs but I took him to obedience classes and had full confidence in him that he could be trusted off leash around other dogs. I guess it was a matter of reprograming him and training. He still does not like other dogs and he takes him a bit to warm up to people. He gets along fine with my three female maltese. So don't know why your Tobie has issues with Boxers.

| Boo's a rescue so we don't know much of what happened to him the first 4 years of his life, but he has serious issues with white German Shepards. Like your Tobie, he's fine with other large dogs. A dog park recently opened up just down the street from us. We've been going and Boo has been loving running around with all the dogs. I'm going to be curious to see if he has issues with other breeds of white dogs, or other standard color German Shepards. If you've had Tobie all his life, then there is no telling why he has such strong feelings against Boxers. Sometimes there's just not accounting for their tastes.

| Try to be calm and not get nervous, Tobie will pick up on that. That could be part of why he's still doing it. It'd be great if you could find someone with a boxer that would be willing to work with you to get him over his fear of them. Ceasar has a lot of great techniques to use for dogs with just this type of problem. Maybe you can get his book or one of his DVD's.
