My baby rockie is black and tan... yes I know they change to steel blue but some yorkies I see on the staight are still very dark, . My question is when should I see the new colours. How often do Adult Yorkies hair need to be cut? |

| Hi There, I am in Ontario as well. Ummm, let's see. I think my boy was around 4 months old when i started seeing his color change. It happened so quick. About the grooming part. I kept mine in a puppy cut, so i was getting him groomed every 4-5 weeks. His nails were trimmed trimmed more often. He will soon be 11 months old, i would like to grow out his hair so right now he is a bit shaggy. Actually, i need to book an appointment to get his nails cut, private areas trimmed, and all the necessary stuff. So, for now i'm gonna try the long hair on him.

| Well it can depend on the parents colour. I have seen some stay dark if the parents are dark. My girl is very pale almost white on Steel area. (more a silky terrier in color) So look to the parents and see what is thier coat colour. |

| It always depend on the parents and grand parents . Sandrine and her daughter were black and gold until they were 15 months old . I spoke with Sandrine's breeder and told that the sire and grand sire were very dark and changed at 13 months old . |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Hi! Welcome to YT!!! Did you happen to see the parents? The will be a good indicator as to how your pup will turn out. They will start changing around 12 weeks and will continue to change. You should know what color they will be at 7-8 months. Then, as they get older, they will get lighter.
