| Anyone with a Morkie? Hi everyone! I'm Lori and I'm the new mom to 11 wk old Bella, our adorable 2 pound Morkie puppy. I know this is a Yorkie forum, but I'm hoping that I'll be welcome anyway. Bella looks just like a Yorkie and has most of the behavior traits of a Yorkie. I spent a lot of time on this forum just reading before I joined and I believe this is a good match for us...please let me know if this is okay. My hubby adopted Bella for me as an early Christmas present. I've always wanted a Yorkie, but after seeing the pics of Bella, I couldn't resist her. She has been the sweetest gift I've ever received. She's doing very well with housebreaking on her peepee pads, but we did have to move a rug out of the living room because she had started using that instead. Now that it's gone, she is back to using the pee pee pads. We are trying to reward her everytime she goes in the right place and so far it seems to be working. Keep your fingers crossed for me...this is my biggest fear with having an indoor dog as I have MS and sometimes I have a little trouble getting around well. Bella loves to play and has actually started yipping just a little while in play. My hubby called me at work to let me hear her first "words"...lol. She's learned to jump off the couch, but it still scares me a little as we have hardwood floors. If I see she is wanting down, I try to place her on the floor to keep her from jumping. I read somewhere in these forums where someone had ramps and stairs in place...where would I find something like this for her? Just wanted to introduce ourselves...looking forward to chatting with you all! Lori |

| Hi and Welcome to Yorkie Talk Lori and Bella! There are quite a few Morkies here on Yorkie Talk, and you are definitely welcome. Can't wait to see pics of Bella. I have a 5 month old Morkie girl, Meika, and an 8 month old Yorkie girl, Tiki, (oh and a 13 yr. old Schnauzer boy Niko). My Morkie is the brown one in my avatar, and she looks more like a brown Maltese.

| Thank you so much for the welcome! I just got up to get the kids off to school and apparently Bella got a little bored last night. I haven't been crating her at night because she cried so much, and really haven't had a problem...until last night. She tore her pee pad to pieces and it was ALL over my living room. Gotta love her...lol. I'm attaching a few different pics so you can get an idea what she looks like. I do have to say that I believe I have the cutest Morkie in Ringgold, GA... |

I'm surprised more Morkie owners haven't posted here. On your profile page you can join the social group "Mix it UP" which is for mixes, and you'll see lots of Morkies there. Also do a search on the main page of Yorkie Talk for Morkies, and you'll see the many threads where we have discssed them. Don't get turned off by some of the posters who are against mixing breeds though. There are plenty of us who feel that in Morkies you get the best of both Maltese and Yorkie. Give Bella a hug for me!

| Awww, you sweet baby is precious!! I was told by the seller that my Sammie is full blooded Yorkie, but I definitely think she's a morkie. It was obvious when I first saw her, but my heart was lost in that sweet face, so I didn't argue the point. She was worth every penny. (Pics below)

| Welcome to YT! I believe my Ella Bean is a 'Morkie'! She is a rescue, so I can't be certain, but she is definitely half Yorkie and has light fur and the cottony coat of a Maltese. Her personality is ALL Yorkie though! This is a fantastic resource and you will make wonderful friends! Can't wait to see pictures of your little one!

| I am a proud owner of a Morkie! She was born on June 30th. She is now about 5 pounds. I love her so much! She only barks when she is left along, and unfortunately she has a cottony coat which is hard to maintain even with the puppy cut. I have no idea what she is going to look like, she is is always changing her looks. She was mostly black except the tan on lower legs, under her ears, and her nose. The tan/whitish color is now starting to creep into other areas. |

| SO cute! Mine has the cottony coat too, but she is an 'apricot color' with a few random Yorkie black hairs and the tips of her ears are dark. She has gotten lighter...She is just a year now, I dont know her exact birthday...She is 2 and a half pounds and also, never barks EXCEPT when she wants to play!!! Her bark is so big, it makes her whole body vibrate! She is my little sunshine! I find the best way to maintain the cottony coat is daily action with a slicker brush and using a spray in detangler...its not an easy coat to deal with, but she is SOOO cute, I dont care!! LOL
