| Grooming: Where do you go or do you~? I usually take my Yorkie to Petsmart since they have a special machine to sand down their nails. The first place I went to, didn't. I haven't taken him since August, his birthday and he really needs a good trim. But a couple times ago at Petsmart, they took too much off of him. He really looks good with his hair now, but it's in his eyes and his ears need a good trim. Do you all go anywhere special~? Is there anyone whom specializes in your dog and that is why you take them there~? Have you had good or bad experiences where you have been~? |

| I go to PetSmart too. The first couple of times were bad experiences b/c they wouldn't cut his hair like I wanted. They knew what was best on a Yorkie and would not do what I requested. I used a different person every time I was not satisfied. Now, I have a great girl! She's awesome. I take her a pic of what I want and ask her opinion on if it will look good on my baby, and she's honest but still does what I want.

| I take my girls to a mom and pop grooming salon that used to be owned by a YT member, at her recommendation. I would not trust them with anyone else. They do lots of Yorkies and other small breeds.

| Lots of good info, thanks. I was satisfied the first few times with Petsmart and the gal did a t-riffic job on Maxwell. I really never had much done to him until earlier in the year. He got matted on his belly somehow and also on his neck. They had to shave his stomach and under his arms, but now it is growing out. I kind of was upset about it, but it wasn't so bad. I always use a different person there, but maybe I should request someone if I like them. Good idea. I thought of looking around for another groomer. They did an okay job at the first place I took him too, which was next to the Vet and close to home. But like I said, they didn't have that special nail thing to smooth his nails out after they get trimmed. Is there anything special I need to ask when calling to another groomer~? Like if they specialize in small breeds, or something~? |

| I just bought the Pedi Paw nail trimmer at CVS for 19.99. Daisy is still getting used to it, but I think I'm going to like it

| The only groomer my yorkies have is me and thats not a very good one The closest vet to me is an hour away and the closest groomer is an hour away, and they just opened up so i really dont know how good they are so i just do the best i can on my own. I ordered the pedicure from ebay and got it in just a couple days. My babies are not that perticular with their hair, they dont complain no matter how its done

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have 4 dogs, 3 of them yorkies so I had to learn to groom them myself. I bathe and trim them every 2-3 weeks and comb out daily. With Cali she is 3 1/2 and I have taken her to a groomer about twice a year. She has a cottony coat and mats easy. Pixie is going to be 3 and has never been to a groomer, but she has a very silky easy coat to take care of. Roxie my 1 year old just went to the grromer for her first time last week as she needed a professional tune up!!! I went and talked to this groomer before I took Cali for her first time and she use to show yorkies and knew I wanted her in long coat. When ever I take one of mine to her, we go over exactly what I want done and she does them in about an hour. So if you can find someone who takes the time to go over what you want.

| How do you brush their nose/snout area~? Someone I met with a Labadoodle told me he has to hold their hair from under their chin to keep him still in order to brush their nose/snout area. Is this a good thing to do~? He doesn't like me touching his nose/snout area with a brush or comb. Thanks. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I actually hold their topknot to comb out their mustache and beard.
