| Nutro - Natural choice dog food killed my mom's yorkie :( This has been an incredibly hard week for our entire family. On Monday my mom rushed her sweet little yorkie Mya to the vet. She had been vomiting and having a number of other issues that I won't go in to detail about. When she arrived to the vet, he told my mom everything would be ok...they just needed to get her fluids. At no time did the vet EVER ask my mom what she was feeding Mya or her other 2 yorkies at home. She got a call at 4:00 pm, that Mya had passed away. After speaking to other people and other vets, we have found that it was her dog food that killed her. And her other two yorkies are slowly declining in health. So please check what you are feeding your dogs, if it's anything made by Nutro - Natural Choice. Please throw it away and have your pet checked by your vet. Here is a link to consumer affairs, it shows several other people have lost pets in recent weeks from this dog food. We HAVE to get the word out!! Consumer complaints about Nutro Pet Foods |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oh my gosh, I am SO sorry for you, your Mom and your family for the loss of Mya. What is the prognosis for the other babies? Did the vet say specifically what caused Mya to pass? I am just so very sorry.

| pet food OMG.... just who can you trust anymore!! I thankfully am using wellness but who is to say this is not just as bad. I am so sorry to hear of your loss for your Mom ... This whole affair really sucks! I agree that maybe the directors right down to the processing staff should have to taste test the products they sell us as good food.... Maybe a little diarreah (sp) and vomiting ... or maybe a couple of deaths would make them rethink their changes! Sorry just had to vent after reading some of the article from consumer reports.

| I am sorry about your mom's dog... It makes me worry that you can't trust any dog food, like deja vu of the recalls.

| I'm so terribly sorry to hear this. I will definately send prayer for your mom and all family members. As for dog foods...........NONE are safe and those feeding dog food of anykind are only playing Russian Roulette with their fur-babies lives. It seems some of the little babies have to give their lives in order to save others. How heartbreaking!!! Hugs and prayers!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your mom's precious Mya. And, I'll be praying the other two make a full recovery. Nutro has had more problems than most of the other pet foods. Even after last year's recall when the others seemed to clean up their act - Nutro continued to have problems and is hesitant to take responsibility for the death of innocent pets.

| Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We are a family of yorkie lovers I have 2 my mom has 2 now. I felt so much heartbreak for my mom and her loss, so I did some searches here on yt and we are going to OH on Sunday to look at a 3 month old yorkie. Hopefully she will be a good match. No one will never replace Mya, but everyday that passes that my mom doesn't have her little girl at her feet is a constant reminder of her tremendous loss. Both of her boys are older and are very independent, Mya was only 2 years old. She loved everyone and was so full of life! I miss her so much! Both my mom and I are educated ourselves on home cooking for our doggies...it's the only thing we can trust in this day and age. Thank you again for all the support and prayers. |
