| not a yorkie owner anymore We just bought a 9 week old Yorkie 3 1/2 Weeks ago and she's staying at my parents house until we move (this Sunday)...well we thought...Until we found out that our apartment policy is that the dog cannot be under 1 years old. My parents said they cannot watch her until she's 1 years old because they will fall in love with her and so they are keeping her =( I've always dreamt of having a Yorkie. I feel so crushed, like I just lost my baby. And her price was exactly at the range we were looking for too! Actually she was really cheap for a Yorkie. Now I guess I have to wait a few more years to find the perfect one again. |

| Yeah they are..My parents had a maltipoo, but he died about 2 months ago. So I guess its a good thing. They live like 20 minutes walking distance away, so its not too bad, but she wont be my baby anymore! =( I've always wanted a Yorkie with long hair, but I know my parents are going to keep it puppy cut. I guess At least they are going to pay me back, plus my mom's going to be getting another maltipoo. I'm still sad though. |

| That's crappy! But at least your parents are going to take care of him, so you can still see him. I would just lie to the apartment people They will never know...When I moved in with my hubby before we were married, he lived in apartments that didn't allow dogs at all, and I took Duke with me anyway. There was no way I was moving without him. We lived there for about 3 years, and never got in trouble.

| I'm so sorry. What a stupid rule: if they are going to allow pets what difference does it make how old she/he is? Is there no way you could keep it and just not talk about the age? You know, small dog, may not get noticed if you aren't out much. Are you home during the day? I'm glad your parents are able to help out, but I know it's not exactly what you wanted. I hope you get your yorkie baby some day.

I have actually done that before another time, but got caught and had to pay a deposit and monthly payment...but the manager of the apartments is not very nice here. Tomorrow I'm going to try to talk to her and see if I can change her mind. I hope she does! I love my baby yo-yo. And it sure is a stupid rule! This is the first apartment that had an age restriction. I guess she just hates puppies! UGH | |

| Ahhh how sad.... I must say, I am really shocked that someone sold you a Yorkie when they were only 5.5 weeks old - holy moly - Most stay with their Mommy's until at least 12 weeks - WOW I don't think the people you got her from are very responsible...to say the least Best of luck - I hope it all works out for you and she |

YT 500 Club Member | I know this has to be very hard, but I think the rule has to do with the fact that puppies (under 1 yr) are often not potty trained. However, I also know that any pet can make a mess (mine does, and she is nearly 7). I am sorry to hear this. Are there any other apartments that you can rent that will let you have your baby?

YT Addict | Oh thats so sad! What a let down that must be. Well at least your parents will look after her! Don't worry maybe you will find one that's older or did you have your heart set on one that's a puppy?
