| Yorkie not being properly cared for by a friends little sister A good friend of mine has a sister that has a Yorkie, the girl is 11 years old and they gave her a Yorkie for her birthday. I was talking to my friend and asked her how the yorkie was doing and she told me that no one takes care of it. That the sister ran out of food a week ago and that they havn't been feeding her. I know I could take great care of the little yorkie. I just feel very bad for the doggie, why would someone put the life of a dog in the hands of an 11 year old! The parents refuse to take care of the dog. It just angers me when people don't think before they bring a dog into their home. I know its not my call, but I feel bad for the dog. The little yorkie is very sweet and only 4 months old.

| They ran out of food a week ago and no one is feeding her? So are you saying this dog has not eaten in a week? An annonymous call to animal control would atleast have someone go out there and check on the poor baby. Elaine |

| I am more than willing to adopt the dog but I am not sure how to go about bringing it.

| Thats why people should never buy a pet for a child. Maybe you could offer to keep it. I dont think they should have it if they cant even feed it

| Have your friend ask if there is a way you could adopt it. That is too much responsibility for a child.

| I think a phone call somewhere is needed. We have RSPCA here in the UK, this stands for The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. You must have something like this where you can phone and give details of the dog, address etc, so they can take the animal from a family who is clearly not looking after it.

| Please call Animal Control. Even if the pup is taken to the pound, it will be grabbed up immediately. I can't believe the adults in that family refuse to step in. |

| I think the parent's of that child are not teaching her anything in the way of respecting something that is a living creature. Plus she is 11 for heavens sake and should have feeling for something helpless. I think they are all cold hearted people. Call animal control and save that poor puppy. God only knows what goes on in that house. You know about it so unfortunately it's up to you to help that innocent helpless puppy. Good luck. |

| I just talked to my friend which informed that they are considering re-homing her. I told her I was interested and she told me she is going to tell her father. ::Crosses fingers:::

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | GOOD LUCK !! That little puppy really needs a home why would someone get a pet and NOT buy food ? I just don't understand people sometimes - I really dont. and 11 years old ? I have little girls where I live who see mine and claim they want one just like them and I keep talking them out of it. I really hope the price will scare off the parents but I just don't think little kids can be a caretaker for any pet (cept a cat maybe) unless they're SUPER EXTRA responsible |
