why would someone get a pet and NOT buy food ? I just don't understand people sometimes - I really dont.

I have little girls where I live who see mine and claim they want one just like them and I keep talking them out of it. I really hope the price will scare off the parents but I just don't think little kids can be a caretaker for any pet (cept a cat maybe) unless they're SUPER EXTRA responsible
