| Whining even when being held? My yorkie who is about a year old whines constantly even when being held. I've tried to stop him by saying no firmly, spraying with water, buzzing, etc. But none have helped. Please give me suggestions. I'm sick of this constant noice. |

| When are you holding them? When they are calm, get someone else with you with treats and slowly try rubbing them and saying good boy, good boy, treats, as you rub them. By spraying them ect, you are making negative associations with being held! Goodluck, be patient! |

| He's whining ALL the time? Have you taken him to the vet to see if he's maybe in pain? Could be he has a burr stuck to him or a toothache, etc. There's got to be some reason why he's crying. |

| I agree with having him checked by a vet. Does he really whine *all* the time? Why do you think he does this?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If he whines "all" the time, then something is clearly wrong and I'd get him to the vet. Whining is part of their language and communication - it's a signal, and I can't imagine a dog whining constantly unless he's in pain or something. Btw, if you've sprayed him or told him "no!" while you're holding him - he is def. not going to associate being held as a nice, warm fuzzy.
