| Try running away from her. It really works. When you do this the first few times you might want to have her fav toy and some treats. The trick is to be the FUNNEST thing around. Call her in a high pitched excited voice and when she comes - LOTS and LOTS of praise. If she's into toys play tug of war with her a bit (always be sure to win the tug of war!) and / or give her treats.

I like your idea, sounds like fun training!! I also would try teaching the "come" command while on leash, with lots of praise and a few treats.

| Mine does the same thing. Sometimes it can be really frustrating, like when you're late for work I think I'm going to sign up for a training class at pet smart. |

| I have the same problem with Jaxon. He knows the 'COME' command, but often he chooses to ignore it. I like the idea of running away from them and will have to try it. We're going to get some clothesline wire to attach to his leash so he'll have more freedom but still be attached. He's very curious about the forest area behind our house and I don't want him deciding to explore it!

| running in circles! my tucker doesn't like to come when i call him, either. only, i don't think i could run away from him because he runs in circles! beats all i've ever seen! i wouldn't know which way to run! so for now, we're staying on the leash most of the time. i live out in the country, so i give him some freedom sometimes when i'm not in a hurry i also put his retractable leash on a pole i stick in the ground in the yard if i'm doing yardwork. that way he has some freedom, but he doesn't get away. |

| I bought 50-feet of lightweight clothesline. My pup can run all over tied to this. He can run 50 feet in one direction and then 50 feet in the other direction. And I do mean run....... The clothesline is so light that he doesn't even know he is attached to it. Often, I just let him go dragging it around. Then, if I want to catch him, I don't even have to go near him. I can just pick up the clothesline from some place that is not even near him. He doesn't even know I'm getting him. And - of course - the clothesline can be tied anyplace at any time (and at whatever length you want). It was a godsend for us. My Yorkie doesn't really run from me - he just gets off somewhere and never comes when I call him. All my dogs do this - they drive me crazy. So - I really appreciate being able to pick up his line and get him easily any time I want. And, he still has the time of his life running all over...... Good luck! Carol Jean |

| My Sissy does the same thing runs from me. We have a long wire like rope tied to a brick for her to run around with. She can not move the brick yet. But when she is able to move the brick i hope thiss will give me time to stop her and get her attention to come to me. But when she figures out she is free She runs and runs and runs....she will stop for a few seconds let me get almost there than looks at me and run run run....
