my tucker doesn't like to come when i call him, either. only, i don't think i could run away from him because he runs in circles! beats all i've ever seen! i wouldn't know which way to run!
so for now, we're staying on the leash most of the time. i live out in the country, so i give him some freedom sometimes when i'm not in a hurry
i also put his retractable leash on a pole i stick in the ground in the yard if i'm doing yardwork. that way he has some freedom, but he doesn't get away.
