| Anyone try WizDog? I have seen advertisements on this and looked at reviews on the WizDog. Anyone out there try this yet? If so, would you recommend it? By the way, I am new to this forum and love all of the wonderful advice you all have given. Thanks! |

| Hi there - I have a WizDog - and it was a good investment for my little guy because he goes on a pad in the kitchen - it kept him from dragging the pads around. It's all plastic, easy to clean - but he has gotten into the habit of going on the very edge of it lately, so it hasn't been working out that well. If your pup will go on a pee pad, you're probably just fine with that - though the thing that I like about the WizDog is that, when he uses it correctly, he doesn't get as much pee on his feet! (it goes through the plastic grate) Hope this is helpful... |

| Thanks for posting that - I think I might go with the deeper tray with a pad in it - then maybe he'll respect the boundaries of the pee pad!! |

| Thanks for the information on a past post pertaining to the WizDog. I am going to try it. My dog Merlin used a tray with paper on it, but always walked off after he was finished with wet feet... They offer a money back guarantee if you find it is not working. Might as well try it... I have two new Yorkies joining our family soon. We lost our precious Merlin last month. We love animals, however love this particular breed so much that my husband wanted two this time... Thank you all again! I am so glad I found this site. |

| have wiz dog and hate it I have the Wiz Dog and so far am not happy. My pup is stubborn! since day one, he will hold it forever and when we are outside, it can take him up to an hour or more to go. I kept taking him out constantly...nope. He'll hold it for 10 hrs but when he "wants" to go...no distraction...then he will go where he was. Even at my vets office this past week. He went to poop in the office on the matt. I picked him up and brought him outside because I knew he was in the middle of going. Nope. But when I put a pad down in the office, he goes right to it. Anyways, I never had a pad trained dog. Was worried that they would get carpet confused with pad and we visit a lot of places. however, my climate is horrible and for many reasons I decided to try this thing. Sparks LOVES his pad and is 98% chance of going on it. I keep it in the bathroom with the intention of it ONLY being available when I'm gone but when I am home making him ask to go to the bathroom (outside). Pee pad is down all the time now. Ha! Anyways, The wiz dog is messing everything up. He is now having accidents in thehouse. He hates the grid. I like the concept. These pads are way too expensive and it does help with the wet paws...but he hates it and we are having to start potty training all over. I may go and buy a piece of sod and put it over it or get that porta pup. More money...ugh suz |

| I bought the Wiz Dog and ended up returning it. The pan is way too shallow. I have the Purina dog litter pans that are better. The only downside is that there is not a grate so when they go, it stays on whatever you have in the pan. I use puppy pads and newspapers. The bad part is that I have to make sure a clean newspaper is down every time she goes- she doesn't like a dirty potty!!

| Walmart has a cat litter pan with a grate. It is 3 layers. We took one layer out so it is not so tall for Gypsy to get into. We are working on her using it.

| I think that with WizDog I would only recommend it for someone who is just starting to potty train. He took to it immediately, but it's all he knew, aside from the grate in the bottom of his whelping pen from the breeder. I don't know if it would be as attractive to a dog that is already used to going on potty pads... |

| I decided to order it because my Kenny keeps playing with his wee pad when i am not looking and making a MESS. I ordered a smaller version from Target because it needs to fit inside his playpen..the Wiz is too long and wide...so i hope it works as well if not better than the original. its the same price. another problem i am having is he sits inside the doggy litter box....i posted a thread related to that in a way today..check it out any advice if u have it. topic title is "2 ?'s one on chewing and the other is a "DON'T". I will let u know how the wizish works..i dont see him not taking to it..even without the grate..i just want something lower and smaller than the purina box.

| well he instantly took to the wiz dog BUT he still tries to sit and /or lay on it. therefore laying on any poop (his stools are sometimes soft) that remains on top. it seems like he is pooping more but that may be my imagination because i seem to have to clean the top grate more. i tried it w/o the grate and he still sits right on top of the poop. i try to clean up the poop right away..but sometimes he is in his pen and i am in another room..i am not omnipresent. its a pain to clean but i would still recommend it..i dont know why ..but i think its because my issues have to do with my specific dog
