| Getting puppy used to a harness My 14 wk old boy hates his harness... I've just been putting it on him here and there and either letting him sit in it and lick a treat or using the leash to apply pressure, and then releasing when he steps forward... like a horse.. but progress has been slow and it's a requirement for puppy school (We had our first class last night). Any hot tips to get him out of the "just lay down like a stubborn kitty" phase? |

When I got Lexi at 13 wks she hated the harness too. She would try to bite the harness and me every time I tried to put it on. So I decided to start making her wear it all day to get used to it. I would put it on her in the morning, and only take it off if she was left alone at home and then take it off at night. It took a while, but eventually she stopped fighting me so I didn't make her wear it all day after that. | |
