| Two year old yorkie partially housebroken Chewie is 2 years and 4 months old and is still not completly housebroken. Of course is our fault. He is trained to go on the pads, which are in a corner of our bedroom. When he is in the bedroom he goes on the pad (or close to it). If the bedroom door is open and he is somewhere in the house, sometimes he comes in the bedroom and goes on the pad, and other times he goes somewhere in the house. This happens mostly with no 2, but I do find no 1 too from time to time. We don't want to train him outside , because there is no one to take him out when we are at work and he hates beeing confined. He has his den ( a travel bag) where he goes and sleeps sometimes, but he hates to be locked inside, or to leave him by himself in the bedroom. A weird thing happened last winter. We went to Europe with him, and the while we were there he had only a few accidents in the first days, until we figured out how often to take him out. After that he only went outside, and he even let me know when he needed to go. Here he goes during the night too, there he hold it until the morning. So, I was wondering what should we do to completley train him...We were thinking of changing the carpet ( it's 16 years old, and some areas destroyed by accidents), but should we change it before we are sure he is trained? Or the carpet triggers the accidents? |

| I know that carpets keep the smell of old pee unless cleaned and you use an enzyme cleaner. Even the I don't know if you can get all the spots. If you have a new carpet at least you will know where the smells/spots are. I know Buster uses the pee pads inside but loves to go outside if he can. If only I could convinc him 4 paws on the pee pads not just 2!

| We use natures miracle all the time, but our carpet is white and there are spots where it turned yellow, and I just can't clean it no matter how much natures miracle I pour there . I am afraid that I will change the carpet and end up in the same place... Chewie does the same, but for him is the back legs on the pad and the front ones the carpet. And depending on how close is to the side of the pad, the pee gets on the pad, or the carpet ... We even got one of those pad trays, so he can feel the difference between the pad and the carpet...it got better after that, but it's still not perfect... |

| For me it is front pads on and pee on the bathroom floor. You may have some accidents but with less of a smell trigger Chewie might not pee as much. Lucky for me my carpet is light brown but I am sure the smell is down to the pad. Good thing they have such sweet faces.
