2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | I assume that your female is in heat ? Unless you want to become a breeder and have a litter of pups its best to keep them separate at any cost. They need to be supervised round the clock and when not. One needs to be caged. They should go out side to potty separate or with supervision for sure. It only takes moments for the male to mount the female. Dogs, both the female and the male will do what ever it takes to be breed. Once your female get to the standing stage of her heat, it will get much worse. You may want to think about getting one or the other fixed to prevent this from happening again. .

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I made some for mine out of fabric and thick Velcro strips. You might try adding more Velcro to make them fit better and harder to take off. Don't forget to add a disposable pad under the belt; the belt is just to hold the pad in place. Also, I do want to reiterate dawn's warning, belts and panties will not discourage the dogs from breeding. You might understand this; I just wanted to make sure anyone reading this understood it.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | A male dog does not come into heat, only the female does. If you need to get some diaper pins and make it tighter. You could even use some cloth diapers if the belly band that you have now isn't working. You need something wide enough and tight enough so that the male bulbus (bone) does not escape the cloth that you are using and it will.

Are planning on having any of them fixed ? If not you can plan on going through this about every six months. It's not easy with one female let alone two. YOur just lucky that their heat cycles are in sink or you would be doing this every 3-4 months. A female can be in heat for 6-8 weeks at a time. They are fertile one 3 days out of that 6-8 weeks. If your males tie with her during that time, there you go now you've got puppies x 2. It sounds like you have your hands full and that you were not prepared. I would suggest you do lots of research on the reproductive system and breeding habits of dogs. Research the heat cycles on bitches and what to expect if one or both of your females become pregnant. Than make an informed decision on whether you want to or can afford to become a breeder. Because by having two fertile females and two intact males its bound to happen. Even if you think you have it under control. It wont be easy keeping them apart, it just their natural instinct to mate. If you have no intentions of becoming a breeder than please do something about it before its too late. All dogs can be fixed at the age of 6 months old. Glad that I was able to help and I wish you luck !!

Unfortunately its not my choice. All the yorkies But one (younger male) belong to my mother. Its all her choice. Ive showed her alot of information on breeding yorkies including the risks that they go through. Were only breeding once because we arent selling any puppies. We have select family and friends (including our vet) that would like a puppy if they do breed. My preference is that we dont because of the risks. | |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Wow, that's very unusual, good vet! Do you remember what type of testing he suggested?
