| needing help h hi,i have nearly 4 yr old yorkie,he has been aggressive on and off for a while. have done training classes and he quite good, love other dogs and very active.problem is he 'turns' at home so often unexpectedly, will try bite if having paws wiped, coat dryed, lead put on if he dont want go" wee, wee".growls if i move on the sofa,if he has dog chew will become aggressive especially if he bring it in lounge.at night growls and has lunged at me when i go passed his bed. Can be a darling most of the time and has character.today he was sitting by a friend and i dryed his paws no probs and no treat needed(as was told to do ishould with him when he kept on being aggressive)then in seconds he had my hand in his mouth and left teeth marks.so,so, upsetting.the unpredictability means i cannot trust him and be as happy .any real help much apprieciated thanks .rolo |

| I would probably contact the person who led your previous training class to find out if they have suggestions and would be willing to do some in-home training. If that person doesn't work in-home, maybe get a referral from them or the vet's office. Just my two cents Hope you are able to get to the root of the aggression very soon.

| Sounds like some of that is resource guarding, which can be nipped in the bud with training. |

| One thing you should not do is give him treats if he is being aggressive. It may stop him from biting/nipping, but it is actually a sign to him that being aggressive is a good behavior. By giving him a treat then, you're rewarding him for his bad behavior.
