Yorkie Yakker | Steeling and fleeing Mylee is constantly steeling my things then taking off. My fiancé and I can not catch her. We chase after her but she always wins! The only way I can get her to drop it is to give her a treat! I know....she is being rewarded but I don't want her to choke! How can I get her to stop?

| Mine does the same thing. It is frustrating and we're both getting additional exercise, but I need to stop this too.

Max is into the game of chase and he will grab leaves from the deck or our indoor trees in hope that I will chase him. When I stopped chasing him and instead redirected his attention, he quit with the leaves. Also, keep the stuff she like to steal out of reach, especially if it dangerous stuff.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Ok too cute !! The golden rule is NOT TO CHACE HER !! Shes a pup, and that is what they like to do. It's a game to her and she's WINNING ! Start leash traning her, number one is to first make sure she knows her name. Second teach her her come and stay commands. Check out the training tips on my site for more on leash training. | At the moment she drops the item and gets the treat, say "drop it." After several times, she will know what "drop it" means and you won't have to give the treat. This is a wonderful opportunity to teach her a very valuable command!
