Teaching her to trade the naughty (dangerous) item for a treat is a good thing. Don't look at it as rewarding her for bad behavior.
Max is into the game of chase and he will grab leaves from the deck or our indoor trees in hope that I will chase him. When I stopped chasing him and instead redirected his attention, he quit with the leaves.
Also, keep the stuff she like to steal out of reach, especially if it dangerous stuff.
