| I had a litter box and paper/wood pellets for my two dogs for 8 years and they did play with the litter at first and also would try to eat it. We tried to just redirect them rather than scold them. It is tough because you want the puppy to go on the litter but when they eat it you want to tell them no. I kept mine on a leash, put them in the box with a directive to "Be Clean" and we stood there until they went. I tried to start when I knew they had to go. Before we knew it, they went in by themselves. Good Luck!

| I have boxes also, but I use washable pads in them instead of the litter.

| I use blank newsprint in Lulu's litter box. It is a little more of a pain than the disposable pee pads because you have to pretty much change the paper every time they use it.

| What is blank newprint and where do you get it ... I don't mind to change it often but would love for her to start using the litter box for potting instead of playing in it lol... |

| It is the same kind of paper that newspapers are printed on. I get 15 x 20 sheets that fit exactly in my litter box. You can get them at ULINE - Shipping Boxes, Shipping Supplies, Packaging Materials, Packing Supplies.
