| Little Yorkie lots of piddle I have two yorkies, one male 7yrs and a female 6yrs. Both have been fixed. My male is potty trained very well and loves to go outside and always has. My female has "issues". We got her when she was 5mths old and had been trained with pee pads. She was and continues to be very timid so I don't like to scold her too much. The problem is she piddles constantly in the house and out (when she will go out if it's not too cold, wet or snowy, living in Michigan can be a problem). This has gone on since the day we got her.....she is healthy and does not have a bladder infection or anything. She weighs just 3.5 lbs. so I just thought it was because she must have an extremely small bladder, could this be the case? Occassionally she will use her pee pads in the house but lately she has been getting worse and will just piddle on the carpet, area rugs, bath mats and/or clothes left on the floor in my kids rooms. Sometimes it is just a few drops, if she was a male I'd say she was marking her spot, do females do this? I think confinement is the answer for her. I hate to do this when her "brother" can have the run of the house but don't know what else to do. Suggestions please?!? |

| One thing I have read about and noticed. Yorkies are hard to train. It takes consistancy and hard work oh and lots of praise and patience. Andy is 2 years old now up until a couple months ago he could only hold it a couple of hours. Good thing I stay home. Now he is up to 3/4 hours and holds it all night until morning pee if I'm quick laughs. You may have to look up some things and go back to the basics and start over with the training. Good luck.

| I would have her checked again for baldder infection or diabetes. If that is not the problem, you might have to put doggie diapers on her. Also, I would never scold for a mistake, only praise for doing well. I have never once scolded my male for using his papers, even though he goes outside 90% of the time. It just is not worth it to me. I just pick up the papers, spray and clean up, and put down more papers. He has not clue that this is bad behavior. |
