| Puppies at that age are often playing biting and growling. Look at her little tail/nub and if it wags while she is biting you it's a game... You can also try to put something strong smelling on your hands like nail polish remover or hairspray and if she bites it's an unpleasant taste... |

| Since your baby was taken from her mommy & littermates too early, she did not learn bite inhibition. It's up to you to teach it to her now. Here's an article posted by Ladymom. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/tra...nhibition.html

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | I tried everything when it came to Poppy biting and nothing seemed to work. Now when she bites I ignore her for a few minutes and its working, she still bites a little bit but not hard. Just keep at it and she will learn, good luck.

| As JDS ^ stated, biting is a common problem when pups are separated from mom and littermates too early, as yours was. These socialization skills are learned between 8-12 weeks while the pup is with the litter. Good link above. Just be persistant and patient in breaking the habit. |

| Andy was with hos Mom until he was ten weeks old . He was not taken from her to early and still did the chew on my fingers make noises ,but his tail was waggling .It took time with me yelling OW ! followed with a NO ! when it was to hard I think it's just a puppy thing , Just keep working on your babe in time it should work . Good luck

| Fynnlie is biting, too. But he's playing when he does it. we just replace out hand with a toy and put him on the floor. Though, I agree. Having an 8 week old puppy means it didn't have enough time with it's mom and littermates to learn bite inhibition. Good luck.

I was just watching a show on animal planet on the weekend about puppies. They said to put butter on your hands. Like on the top of your hands. The puppy will not bite you, they will lick your hands. This will teach them NOT to bite on your skin! | |
