| Tico is barking his way to a new bark collar I am here looking for solutions. Tico, is 1.5 years. He barks at everything. The door, people coming in, noises, in the morning, pretty much for any unexpected noise, and its driving us nuts. I have been looking at other solutions, other than a bark collar. I've tried the can with pennies, but after, he would start barking at that when i threw it. We've tried haveing one of us knock on the door ten times, each time the other leading tico to the door, showing him its nothing. We've tried loud shhhhhhhh!!! but that doesn't work. The bark collar is next. I would appreciate any solutions. I am surely willing to try, but the barking has to stop. |

| LOL I have to laugh at the throwing of the can. I can relate. Mine has dent's all over it. There is no immediate solution. It does take time. I swear by the coins in the can. Don't throw it When your puppy barks shake it and say no barking and mean it. You must continue this each and every time he barks. That means getting yourself up from a comfortable position and shake that can when needed. He has to understand that when he barks and the can shakes it's noise that means no barking. If he dosen't get it after a couple of days continue this and put him in the kitchen with a gate for a time out. They are just like children! They will wear you down eventually if you let them. The important thing is to be consistant. Leave the can on a table where he can see it and reach for it everytime and shake it. This is what I did and it did work but it does take time. Good luck, |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Well with my Teddy I tried everything. The vet even perscribed a mild sedative to see it it helped. Teddy has been in a bark collar since he was just over 1. He will be 4 next month. If I take it off it is at the dog park. Once at the small dog park someone said please shut your dog up as he barks too much!! He is very used to the bark collar and I have had it on with a dead battery before and he will figure it out after awhile and start barking like crazy. I wish there had been another way but he is just a big loud guy.

I understand completely. I have 5 and 4 of them bark at everything. Even if a guest would cross their legs or if someone gets up, leaves the room or comes back into the room. I've tried everything and so far nothing has worked. Sometimes I think I'm going to lose my mind, but then they come and love on me and I forget all about the barking....but not for long..lol

| I'm real interested in this thread as I also have three that are ferocious barkers, anything and everything will set them off, sometime in the very near future I expect to get an eviction notice from my neighbors . We also have tried just about everything but nothing diethers them. I buckled under the pressure and ended up buying collars as well. We are now at the stage where they will not bark when they have it on, they will whine (a sort of swallowed down bark LOL) when they have it on but they will not bark. But the minute it comes off its back to full throttle... I have three VERY stuborn yorkies
