| Has anyone used this? Stop Dog Barking with the Dog Silencer Pro - Safe, Humane Anti Bark Control Product What I really want to know is, is this site safe? THIS IS NOT A SHOCK COLLAR! We've tried pennies in a can, "no", bark on command and then "quiet", praising good behavior, water bottle, citronella collar, etc. Well Ellie still goes nutso over the vacuum, mop, broom, ironing board... I think trying this is fair more humane than letting her go ballistic over these things. I highly doubt it will work but I would like to try it. She also cries when we leave because she is used to human contact ALL THE TIME. She knows I'm coming back, so I really think she just needs to be quiet and take a nap. When she has a barking fit over the vacuum or whatever, you just cannot get her attention at all. You have to catch her (while getting scratched up), take her in another room, pin her down and tell her to stay and sometimes she just doesn't listen to that. So, I think this is worth a try.

| Yes. I think it has levels so that it can be audible to humans and non-audible to humans. It is likened to nails on a chalk board with humans. I don't know if this site is trustworthy though.

| eeee... not sure i would go with that- i think it would be a bit painful and irritating to her- but i guess it depends on how bad you want the barking to stop.... that's a tough one. |

Sadly, positive reinforcement and praising doesn't stop her undesirable behaviors. Even when someone comes to the door, if she doesn't know or doesn't like them, she barks and barks and barks. Obvioulsy that isn't very welcoming for people and it really does need to stop. Even if when people came in they gave her a treat (which isn't going to work with strangers anyway), she would probably just take it and keep barking. When she is really "out of it" barking at something, she doesn't really even accept treats. Honestly, she is at the level where if I had to have the vacuum or mop out all day, she would need to be drugged. This just isn't healthy for her, so I think it would be better to try to use sound diversion than to let this go on if it isn't necessary. Pennies in a can, besides not working for long, irritates us along with her. Spraying water only works sometimes and that is when you spray her face...not relaly healthy. So I find those methods worthless for us...

| Never mind. I found something similar at the pet store and I can take it back easier if it doesn't work. I just remembered I tried a dog whistle too and that didn't work, so I'm sure we'll be taking it back.
