| Question about puppy Aggression to older Yorkie I've gotten so many good responses to other questions, I thought I'd ask what you all thought about aggression. First off..his name is now MARLEY.....LOL I've had him a week ..a little longer .....and I've changed his name three times trying to get a good fit. Marley it is. So my question is this. I have a 13 year old very gentle little soul named Corkie. She has been my moon and stars of course since losing Leilauni less than a year ago. I've brought this pup home, hoping that Corkie would not feel so alone when I'm not home and working, not to mention to try to fill the gaping void that Lei left. Well he is a darling ...and I love him to bits already but he will NOT leave Corkie alone. He wants to tackle her every minute. I've tried to let her scold him and she has laid him out many times but it is not detering him. Most likely because half her teeth are missing and probably no real BITE to her bite. I've stepped in at times because it was so ugly and I've laid him on his side by the scruff of the neck and scolded him ( Cesar Milan kinda thing). I'm not sure this is the right thing or not. My other concern is Corkie. She seems so.........unhappy........... He is only doing what a puppy will do..... but on the other hand, she is an old..non aggressive kinda gal..( although she sounding pretty mean when she gets after him. He also hurts her with his pirahna teeth. Any advice from the veterans and trainers?

| The same thing happens to my neighbor, but only time, he is full of energy or probably he is a little bored, she is older and want to take it easy and rest somentime, so you can keep him in a x-pen for short period of time to give her a break. Phoebe was like that in the beginning with a new pup but now they are best friends ever |

| That is my hope and was my plan in getting him. I wanted her to have someone at home with her and a buddy. Thanks so much for giving me hope on this issue. I do separate them during the day when I'm gone. I felt she needed time in the day to not be stressed out. I'm so afraid of her getting all stressed.....LOL I'm such a worrier. Tonite she actually got him with one of her teeth and he jumped back..rolled on his back, fell in the water and squalled and cried. That broke my heart..LOL but his is the first time she really had had it as he was trying to eat her food. I talked to the vet today and she reinforced this..to let Corkie teach him... and help her be dominate by always treating, greeting and feeding her first. Thanks for responding and helping me with this. Cj

| Gracie was supposedly alpha of her litter. I had her about a year and she seemed lonely. I got Holly, also supposedly alpha of her litter. Holly has always attacked Gracie, mostly in play. Generally, Gracie tells her off and Holly listens. Gracie is very protective of Holly. I think a lot of it is play, and Holly does seem to be gradually mellowing out in that department. Something tells me though that Holly will be alpha of our pack!

| I second that. My puppy school teacher always says "a good puppy is a tired puppy". Lots of exercise and lots of play should help.

| That is what I'll do then..exercise him more. He is of course wicked on a halter and leash.. we sit more then we walk as he is just learning. But I'll take him to the school after work and see if we can romp his little butt.. :-) Thanks for helping
