Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Pat - YorkieRose...I wish I could see what you were going to post - I always read your opinions !! Annuta.....my 2 cents about the websites. I hope this helps you and please remember - I am No expert on buying a yorkie - this is just going on what I've learned - but if I were in your shoes and looking - I wouldn't buy from Goldies first of all - they CLAIM to have 'tiny teacup yorkies' - that just is a selling phrase to get more money from you the seller.... and 2nd - if they're actually breeding those tiny little female yorkies - shame on them ! They have way too many puppies for sale. They sure are a kennel. Chances are those dogs are all housed in a seperate facility and overpriced. (I won't mention that baby on their main page - something about the eyes looks off) Moonlight has too many breeds and sells almost like a mill - I've been on their site before and know a little about them - IF I were you - I'd be very careful - I don't know about anyone who HAS bought dogs from them but the also are a pretty big operation. Multiple Breeds is a RED FLAG - when you search for a yorkie try to stay with someone who only breeds YORKIES and watch out for brokers too... sorry this is so long but it's hard knowing what to look for when you search for a new puppy. There are lots and lots of people out there just waiting for the person looking for the 'TEACUP' Yorkie - just remember - it's a word and there is actually no such thing - a yorkie is a YORKIE.

| Thank you so much for the information, Red (I am sorry, I am not familiar with your first names yet ! I was *this* ready to buying a Yorkie from Moonlight until I noticed a few red flags. But, having never bought a yorkie, I wanted to ask the forum for advice. When I asked the breeder for current pictures of one of the puppies listed, it looked nothing like the picture on the website. Now, I do know that animals change as they grow, but I swear, the picture she sent looked like a completely different, albeit still cute, dog. Second, when I inquired about another puppy, I asked about seeing his parents' picture. The breeder said that she doesn't have the mother's picture, but has the dad's picture "somewhere", but not sure where. I was beginning to feel guilty about asking so many questions, but sure glad I did, otherwise I would have no doubt purchased one of the puppies. As far as Goldies, she seemed a little unresponsive to my inquiries. When I purchased my Himalayan kitten, the breeder was *extremely* helpful and wanted to know quite a bit about myself and my lifestyle before selling Alisa to me, and that's what I expect a dog breeder to do as well. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | You're off to a good start then and good for you noticing that picture ....That same thing happened to me only I went in person to see the puppy and wow - she was nothing like what they showed me in emails. I don't want claim Moonlight Kennels is a mill - but I've heard they were and with Goldies - she has the word Teacup all over the site...not good. Most ethical breeders don't use that word. There are lots of people here you can network with and maybe find a breeder that you can trust. I personally just wouldn't go with sites like those 2 because of the volume & many breeds...this is only my opinion but you're smart not dealing with either I think |

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | this is sad listen to what she says about the adult female little MeMe "I'm the smallest yorkie on the block and soon to be mother for the first time, wouldn't you love to have a pup to be just like me. " so sad she is only 32 ozs (2 lbs)

THAT is just way too small that poor baby....people like that make me sick - how can they do that and think the dog LIKES it ??? That's a perfect example of a GREEDer...not a Breeder.

| On the "goldies' site it has a sister site for poodles...with the same address as the yorkie site.

| A big red flag to me is when she has order numbers for the puppies for sale and the older dogs have number (#243). Yikes, that kinda tells me she has that many dogs and they are number 243? They have way too many dogs for sale so she is either a puppymill or a broker for other people it seems. In my opinion I would keep looking and you are doing a good job coming on and asking for advise. There are others here that wish they would have done the same before they bought theirs. Good luck and take your time and you will find a good breeder and a nice healthy puppy to love. Barb |

| Baarrrfff................. I just went back and looked at Goldies yorkies again and you are right. Most of the females she is breeding are under 4 lbs. On the sires page she has a 9 year old that she is still using. Isnt that pretty old? All she mentions is how all of her dogs are PRODUCERS. That is all they are to her. Makes me a little angry and nauseous. |
