| AKC customer service response Back in May I e-mailed the AKC asking this exact question, the response was: "Good morning. Unfortunately, your dog would not be eligible for AKC registration. In order to register a dog with the AKC both the Sire and Dam must be AKC registered. We do not accept this registry. Thank you. If a reply is necessary, please include all previous correspondence. | So I wouldn't want to purchase an ACA for breeding if all my dogs are AKC? Because it seems AKC is the better Regisrty in My opinion.

| Akc Some breeders do not find the stricter rules of the AKC something they see as necessary to protect the breed..I do. At some point a breeder has to take a stand and if the breeder has examined each registry and sincerely deemed it best for the protection of the breeder, then stand by your decision, whether we agree or not. Some registries will allow registration with a photo and letter from a vet stating the dog is purebreed..that is a total joke. I have seen Morkies and Yorkiepoo's who were correct Yorkie color, ears erect and no visible signs of being mixed... |
