| Puppy weights It depends on the size of the parents of course but my last litter was born fat and happy, 5-6 oz. Not all of them ended up big though. The smallest newborn ended up being the biggest dog and the pup in the middle of the group at 12 weeks ended up having a major slow down and at 5 monthes is only about 3.5 lbs. so he won't be over 5 lbs as an adult. You just never know they're all little individuals. I like to see a little fat on my newborns, it gives them a good start.

| I totally agree that it depends on the parents weights. A 12 lb Yorkie is likely to have puppies twice as big as a 6 lb Yorkie. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you can expect the puppies' weights to be similar in onces as the parents are in pounds. For example if your parent dogs are 5 lb and 3 lb you could expect puppies to be around 3 to 5 onces when born. Of course some dogs have really fat pups and others really small pups so this is just a rough guess. But I think it's safe to say you wouldn't get a 12 oz newborn out of a 6 lb dog.

| My puppies over the past few years weights have averaged 4-5 oz at birth. Considering the weights of your parent dogs, your puppie's weights seem fine to me. Just make sure they continue to gain. Best wishes, |

| Looks like good weights to me, and as long as they gain they are fine.

| Puppy weights Freyja's mom weighs 6 lbs. and her dad, 2.5 lbs. I think she is around 4 lbs. now and she is 7 months old. I am also wondering if she is going to get any bigger. Patti & Freyja |
