| Contracts There has been a lot of talk about contracts lately and even tho my puppies are not pure but rather a mix I care what happens to them and where they go. I was wondering if anyone has a contract that they are willing to share that I could modify for the placement of my pups? |

| You should really do an extensive research, and make sure you have a binding contract that will protect you, your puppies and your future family according to your state laws. A nicer breeder will care for the well being on their adoptive family as well as their pups. But you need to protect yourself against scammers, careless owners and oblivious people. Are there any laws in your state? Are there any shots, or de-worming protocols mandated? minimum age to send a puppy home? Can you put a clause to obligate them to return the puppy/dog to you if they can not or no longer want to care for it? Just a few tips to lead you . XOXO

| Contract You are more than welcome to pull mine off the website, or I can send you the word file via your email.... I think it is pretty comprehensive protecting all parties.... |

| I think you are looking for a contract with a spay/neuter requirement and that if the buyer decides they no longer want the dog, they must contact you, or surrender the dog back to you, right? If so, you might be better off reading over the resuce adoption contracts and changing those to fit your needs. I am researching the same thing because I adopted Bella knowing there is a good chance she's pregnant. I think the AKC breeders contracts cover a lot more than I will need, like breeding rights, AKC paperwork, replacement puppies, deposits, etc. I just want to make sure any home I place puppies in will not be using them for breeding ( Yorkie Poos are a really popular designer mutt right now, so thats a big concern) and that if it doesn't work out, I get the pups back, or atleast a say in where they go. Most of Bella's pups ( if there are any) will be placed in family and friends homes, but I'm still going to have them sign a contract, just because you never know.

Yes, I think you are right. A rescue adoption contract is more likely what I need. I agree a breeders contract has so much more that just does not apply. Thank you fro your input. It was very helpful. | |
