| We could use help finding a Yorkie, preferably in Upstate NY Hi all, new to this board, and I was hoping the members here could point us in the right direction. We have been calling everywhere, and driving hours upon hours to have local breeders mislead us ( example buying a 13 week old pup that the breeder swore would be 4 lbs, when the vet looked at him, he was 3.3lbs, and his opinion was that he would be around 6-7 lbs ). We would prefer to buy from a respected breeder, and are preferably looking for either a male or female that will be around 3.5 or 4 lbs at adult weight. My fiance wants a little lap dog that she can spoil. We don't mind driving a bit but we can't afford some of the prices I've seen for the smaller ones. I'd really love to get her the puppy of her dreams and I've saved up to probably afford to spend at the MOST 1100 or so, and still have some money set aside for unexpected vet visits. We are located in Rochester, NY and I REALLY don't want to take another 5 hour drive to a breeder and find the house disgusting and the dog's mangy and unkempt. Can anyone please help point me in the right direction? My grandparents have the yorkie of her dreams, she was bought from a breeder in PA 7 years ago, and weighs around 3.5 lbs and is absolutly adorable. They paid 700 , and I know that was before the "teacup" craze and prices have really gone up. So, thank you in advance, I could really use the help, as she is getting very upset with lying breeders. | *edit* 4.5 lbs would probably be fine as well, I'm honestly not sure, because the breeder we went to had a 5.5 lb yorkie, and he just wasn't petite and pretty like my fiance is looking for. Maybe it was just the line and not the size? |

| Good luck in your search I thought I wanted a 'tiny 3 lb yorkie too' and when I got TJ and Roxy I was told they would stay small...Well, 4 years later Roxy is 5 lbs. 3 oz. and TJ is 7 lbs 3 oz - They are PERFECT! Honestly, they are still petite and small - yet I don't have to worry about the them getting hurt or stepped on, etc...AND if we were ever to have kids, they are at a perfect weight and size - very kid friendly. I suggest finding a reputable breeder, but don't pass up one just bc the adult weight should be 5 or 5.5 lbs - Trust me, it's still small |

| I am from Buffalo, NY and bought my Lulu from a breeder in Hilton, NY, right outside of Rochester. His name is Bob Balas and he owns Mistibleu Yorkies. His website is yorkie puppys for sale, teacup yourkies for sales, quality breed Yorkie's for sale. His Yorkies are litterbox trained and have their shots plus they are spayed/neutered before you get them. So, while they might seem a bit expensive, you do get good quality for your money. I just love Lulu. She has the best personality and is very lovable. Bob has some really cute boys available on his website right now. Good Luck!!

| Buyers beware about Mistibleu Yorkies Buyers beware: I went on this website (Yorkietalk) and I found out about Mistibleu Yorkies after reading some reviews. I did end up getting a yorkie from Kim, but found out afterwards that he has a hereditary disease and needed surgery. I spent a lot of money on surgery as well as the numerous vet visits. I just want to let everyone else know my experience because I don't want anyone to go through what I did. |

| That's too bad about your yorkie. Our yorkie we bought from Kim has had overall decent health, he has had horrible teeth problems, having to have 6 teeth pulled already at 3 years old, and that's with yearly cleanings, and semi regular brushings. also he does have a luxating petella as well. On the other side, everyone that sees him says he's the best looking yorkie they've ever seen. |

| Yes, that is too bad about your dog. Lulu is 6 years old and (*knock on wood*) she has only needed her teeth cleaned once. She has very mild luxating patella. I keep in contact with Kim and several other people who got dogs from her and they are all very happy and satisfied.

| Sorry to hear about your yorkie’s teeth problem, mine has some tartar build up when my vet first checked him out when I got him at 8 months old, he is 2 years old now, but hopefully it doesn’t get bad. He does have very dry skin and allergies, which I’m not sure if you have the same problem. He also has a luxating patella in one leg and he was diagnosed with Necrosis of the Femoral Head aka Legg Calve Perthes Disease (hereditary disease) on the other leg. I noticed him not favoring the one side when I first got him, but didn’t know what was really wrong until I got x-rays taken. It is very costly and some people might not realize they have the same problem or might not even be willing to do it. I’m just glad he is much better now and yes he is adorable, but people shouldn’t have to spend so much money on a new dog once we first get them if the breeder is reputable. |
