It is beautiful in the Adirondacks - my dad was born in Conifer which is right near Lake Placid. He actually saw the first olympics there when he was a kid. Some of my relatives still there tell stories about how it's nothing to find bears in your house. YIKES! That's definitely not suburbia

I grew up out in the middle of nowhere right on the foothills of the adirondacks and never saw a bear but I know they must be there. Now, as an adult, I think of it especially when things are really quiet and it does spook me! More recently they had a moose sighting and that's been the big news. You'll have to come for a visit!
