| This is my first one, so I don't know how much people usually spend. My boyfriend thinks I'm crazy as well! I keep buying! Just give whatever you're comfortable with and I'm sure it will be fine .

| I always go over the minimum by too much. I love shopping for the fluffs and always find something else to put in there. With that being said, the GE has a minimum amount but I always treat it as what I can and am willing to spend as long as I meet the min. (which has not been a problem). Just do what ever you are comfortable with and your buddy will love it. I have never seen someone post that they did not like what was sent to them.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I'm certainly not one to give advice on this matter. I have discovered such a very nice person and since I may never have the chance to "honor" her by spoiling her Yorkie again, I plan to do it up right. I'm not so much looking at what I'm spending (more than I should though) as I'm trying to get to really know her and her pet. Then I'm trying to get some things that I think she will like but would not treat herself to. Not saying she couldn't get those things but they are just not things you would necessarily buy for yourself nor your pet. The items are more like the kind of things that you say "someday" about (if that makes any sense). Luckily this person has left lots of footprints when she's posted. This has helped tremendously to give me the feeling she's really going to like what Taffy and I send. I do think though that she's going to wonder how in the world I knew some of the stuff about her. Let's just say I'm a Nancy Drew in disguise...LOL I'm counting on her enjoyment of the package to offset the "meddling" it looks like I've done but honestly I only went off site to find out one tiny bit of info and that info was public record. What really has helped is that I have discovered a genuinely nice person that I would enjoy as a friend in real life. It's been a joy to plan and shop for her and her pet. Now I just have to patiently wait until deliveries begin so I can put together her surprise. (There are also a couple of things that may be total flops and get put in file 13 before they ever get sent but they were more a gift of the heart than expensive items.) I'm honestly not going to total up what I spend on our secret buddy. It's become so much more than the money I spend as I've unveiled more and more of the person's personality and her Yorkie. She deserves all this and so much more. She has most assuredly won my admiration and respect. She is a shining gem...totally authentic and of great value to those who know her. It is going to be a real privilege to do this for her and her Yorkie. |

| I honestly don't know how much i've spent in the past ones i've done. I know it's over the amount but really didn't track it to know how much over. For me it's more about having fun trying to figure out what my SB will like and putting it all together to send it from a virtual friend

| I usually spend $70-$100 but I certainly never expect that in return. I just have a lot of fun buying for my buddy and putting their package together.

| Yep! Best part of the GE in my opinion. I've always loved shopping for gifts for other people for some reason.

| This is our first one... so I cannot answer. I think I am kind of afraid to start adding up some of the things I have so far!

| We have had a couple of questions like that before. This is my first and I did not want to go too low and disappoint a SB but once I started buying a few things, I saw it was not going to be a problem. I also saw that it is not the dollar amount as much as the thought that goes in to the choices that is important to those on the receiving end. Each item I have purchased has been almost like a gift to myself because it was so much fun to pick out and imagine a SB enjoying it. Now that I know who I am buying for and can personalize my package, I will wind up going way over but I have decided not to total it up either. From the beginning I have felt like this will be guilt-free spending since it is for someone else! I haven't done much detective work, but now that "Toy" has brought that up, I think I too, am going to add a new facet to the enjoyment of the GE and try to get to know more about my SB!

| I spent around $80-$100, on the last GE that Gucci and I were in. This time around we plan to do about the same. I never really put a limit on what I spend .. I just shop until I am comfortable with what I have gathered... and also plan on making a couple of special things. It's so hard not to look for your buddy when the package hasn't been sent off yet! I had purchased a few staple items already and I went shopping today and will go again tomorrow and the day after and the day after.. until the package is mailed off |

LUV my 3 Furrs & Alex Donating Member | Well, I always spend a lot of money, not only for the presents but also for the shipping. Here in the UK the dog toys and clothes are NOT AT ALL CHEAP, at least not in the town I live in!!! But I do enjoy shopping for our buddy and I never look at how much I spend. I think people spend on their buddy as much as they are comfortable with and I haven't yet seen a buddy that didn't like what they received!

| This is my first GE too and after looking at previous threads of the things people have sent in the past, I was a bit worried that my package would dissapoint I've realised now though that no -one is expecting huge, extravagant gifts.....just something from the heart. The saying, 'It's the thought that counts' is very apt for the GE xxx xx

| I'm about in the $70 range and then S&H will bring it up.... thats about all I can afford... BUT I think I did ok and my SB will be happy I hope! Since I stated in my hint thread my SB is a first timer, I was able to look back at the history to things she has given and things she has gotten. From the packages and her requests I am a bit limited in items but so far I think Ive been making it work!

Ditto for me..I do some investigative work to really get to "know" my secret buddy's mommy and to personalize it. I love to shop so I can't think of $$$ - that's just me. I have fun and love reading the posts especially when we start to get our packages to see what everyone received and who their buddies were.
