Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Grading scale? Has anyone had experience with a grading scale? https://thefidmstore.com/webapp/wcs/...cat15601-16618 I've been struggling to make a pattern (about 10 times the size I typically do ) and came across this nifty sounding tool last week. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

| I haven't but I will research this. I use a copy machine to increase my patterns and that has worked well for me but I would like a home back up as I use my work copy machine. Thanks for the info gonna research this now. I just found this article http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/...ading/page/all

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | LOL...I wonder now if I lost my mind when I agreed to make PJs for a Great Dane!! I'm nearly done but maybe this tool would help next time. I'd come across the article you posted prior to finding the tool. Thanks for posting it so others could read it though!

Eta also you can't grade up a yorkie pattern to a Great Dane pattern. That's like grading a petites dress to a plus size. Each sizing category you start w the medium and grade up or down to get your other sizes. You r better off draping a pattern from scratch or buying a large breed pattern and go off that. Not saying it can't be done the way you are trying but it won't be an accurate fit.

| well i do use the copy machine to grade up or down with jammies and outfits and it actually goes all four directions i can choose the sections and the percentage of increase or decrease. so far everything i have re-sized has fit with no issues but I am going to start working with this method ...once I learn it. I subscribed to threads magazine in hopes to find more education on it.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Priscilla- the largest big dog pattern out there for sale is about 36"neck to base of tail. I originally thought I'd try resizing one but after reading more on sizing realized it wasn't going to help! I make a lot of my own patterns so I figured why not try making one for the Dane.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | LOL...he's not as big as some! It took 2 1/2 yards of fleece and a little less than 1/5 yard of the black rib knit.
