YT 500 Club Member | question? Does anyone know how to sew a dress with those stretchy crochet bands about 6 inches wide? Wondering how to attach fabric to make a dress out of it. Seen tutus, but want to use fabric.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | I have no idea either. Have you tried a sewing only forum online? I'm not sure of the best ones but I would think there'd be lots of experts on there who could help. Good luck hon!

| You could use fabric but it would need to have stretch in it.

| I agree. I think it would be hard to use fabric because the tulle is tied in the holes for the tutus. If you sewed fabric onto the headband, it would need to be stretchy and I think it would stretch out the headband, as well. Unless you made it shabby by cutting strips of fabric to tie like the tulle. That would be cute. I have a bunch of those headbands, maybe I'll try one that way.

YT 500 Club Member | I think what I'm going to do is hold the crochet band stretched as I sew the fabric at the same time. Then when band stretches the fabric will go with it. Giving it the gathers of fabric. Hope it works. I'll post pics if it does.

| That might work, but I think it will stretch out the hairband too much. Let us know how it worked.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | I have never worked with stretch fabrics. You could make the skirt first with a finished waistband and than attach it to the headband material. Should be interested to find out how it works for you. Be sure to share and let us know how it turns out !
