making clothes out of baby clothes?

thoes are TOO CUTE! i would dress my baby in this if he were a girl seems you know what your going, any tips on altering clothes for a boy? the winter is coming and i want to be able to make him some onsies when were on our walk but thought it wouldn't work since he lifts his leg to potty.

I do this all the time. Cuter and cheaper than dog clothes. For the girls, I look for little tops or dresses that button in the back. I cut up the side seams and across the back to remove under the belly, turning under and hemming the raw edges, then I move the buttons over to make it fit under them better. I add a little velcro if needed. Here is a couple pictures of the front and back of some I altered for my girls.

I've made Rily shirts as well. You just have to cut and hem the underbelly a little higher. I'll try to post pics of oneies I have altered for him later. Got go to work now.

I agree with you dog's clothes are really more expensive compare to a human. I like your idea of buying baby clothes and sew it and design for your yorkie. It's cheaper and you can create good stuff from it.

I bought Bella some cute little sandals I totally fell in love with, but I guess I over did it cause I tried putting them on and she was walking funny I guess dogs weren't meant to wear shoes, but I have seen some fur baby's with slippers for the snow and they look quit comfy.I guess it all depends on your fur baby I would like to post a picture of the sandals but I don"t know how? can anyone tell me how to post the pic. up

who knows, i get really good at it i might own a store just for yorkie clothing with prices WE ALL can afford and not on a Paris Hilton budget. lmao im just saying! that girl spent $200 on a fur coat for her lil chiwawa. i mean i love my furbaby but that's half my insurance ... can we say RIDICULOUS!

lol i tried shoes on Jah'Lija at a friend house and he was NOT having it! good thing i tried that out before i bought shoes, i guess lil booties will have to do. he can tolerate it for a 30min walk but rips them off before we even get to the door! lol i think its cute.
