| I want to sew!!! Hi, I have been buying clothes for CoCo for 3 years now... and I have an itch to learn to sew!!!! I know I will need to take some classes and learn the basics.. I took some classes back "way back" in school in Home ec ..yes I am now showing my age hehehehe "50" and loving it... anyway I do not have a sewing machine and I was looking at this one Brother PC-420 PRW Limited Edition Project Runway Sewing Machine the reviews seem great.. seems like this might be a good machine to start with?

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | that is the one I got my daughter when she had the sewing itch too...LOL she is doing very well with it when she uses it.. usually she starts the project and I find it in my finishing project stash.. sewing is like riding a bike, once you done it ,it will come back to you. start with something simple and you will see how fast it comes back to you. I am planing on sewing a couple of things today is ugly and dark here in NJ today.. hugs, and best of luck.. |

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Oh yes yes yes!!! You gotta start sewing! It is so much fun and the feeling of accomplishment you have at the end is the best. I have a basic brother sewing machine that is almost like the one you posted. My mom bought it for me as a Christmas gift and I love it!!!! It has been a great machine for me so far, no problems with it at all. I'm already eyeing a brother embroidery machine. Tee hee. When you do get to sewing, please share with us on yt! We love seeing each others creations and these ladies help sooooo much! They are awesome! Good luck! And be prepared....it's addictive!

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | I'm not sure if mine has a special name or not but it says 'LX-3125' on the front. My mom bought it on black Friday a few years ago for $99 I believe. It is basic, but has been a great starter machine for me. It will sew on buttons, but I'm afraid to try those yet. Lol. It has 13 basic stitches. The only complaint I have with it and this is minor, is I have to hold a lever on the front of the machine when I want to back stitch. I think that's more of a personal thing. It came with a few tools and a very informative DVD. I think even after I get a fancier machine I'll still keep this one. I have only ever sewn on one other brand of machine, a singer at a sewing class, and I did not like it. I'm sure it was because I wasn't used to it, but I just love my brother. I would like to try out the different brands though.
