| On page 1 are some new pics I took today. I am so upset i'm shaking. I called the vet today to let the other vet (the one i thought i liked) know that I was bringing in brody. Well the nurse talked to him and told him. I asked her did he have anything positive to say about brody..and she said no..HE HASN'T EVEN SEEN HIM YET and he's already being negative. I told her to tell him that I'M NOT PUTTING HIM DOWN. He's gaining weight using the bathroom he isn't congested..he's breathing normal..why would i put him down. This is crazy. I thought vets were supposed to save lives. I know one thing if he isn't going to be helpful when I get there for the first time I"m going to give him a peace of my mind. I am always respectful and nice to people. I have given that place thousands of my damn dollars..and yes i mean thousands. I've been going to them since I was 20 .21 years old and i'm 34 (35 in april)years old. I've payed for animals to be treated that weren't even mine. I have put my time in at the shelter and then some as well as to my community and everyone and their brother..i've always tried to do whats right..and i'll be damned if he isn't going to help me. I've had to fight my husband and half my family because of all the things I have done to help others and animals. It's my turn for someone to help me. And if he doesn't for the love of pete i'm afraid i'll unload on him like no other.. What has happened to this world..I'm sorry i'm just mad..

| I m so sorry your visit with vet wasnt so good ,but just to let you know there was a story in our local paper last summer about a little Lhaso apso pup that was born with a cleft palate. She is called Buttons and the breeder decided to keep her, and she is beautiful and really tiny her brothers and sisters looked enormous beside her. I met her in our local petsupply store and she is quite the wee celebrity ! I think everyone in town knows her.She seems to be coming on great now ,so dont lose heart. I hope all goes well for Brody it sounds as if he has a lot of fight in him , if he is feeding and pooping well he may be a bit smaller but you keep fighting for him as well.

| I haven't been to the vet yet. Our appt is this afternoon. That's why i'm so upset. I called and talked to the nurse who talked to the vet..he hasn't even seen him yet and he's being negative. I am glad that everyone is sharing their success stories. It gives me that much more hope. I am calmed down now. I know i have to be for his sake and mine. I have some questions. If brody does get phneumonia (iknow i spelled that wrong lol) anyway if he does can he survive that? When i go to the vet what all should I ask for? I know a feeding tube and i know to have him to show me how to use it. But should I ask for antibiotics or anything? I am a little worried that when I feed him now he gets to sounding a little rattley..so I pat his back and rub it and he coughs it up. But I"m not so sure he is sounding as clear as he was. Any input will be helpful..thanks..

| I'm back from the vet. The vet I was supposed to see wasn't there. I don't know why and was very dissappointed he wasn't. So I had to see the one I didn't want to see. I almost cried when it was him who walked out. I already told them who i wanted to see. I was only given 5 minutes or less of his time. He cut me off at every question I asked. He said he's never done surgery on a cleft pallet cause he always puts them down. He said I know the fix them on human babies but were talking about a dog here. In my opinion not worth fixing. Are you mad yet..I am..anyway he said I know some out there have kept their dogs alive for the sole purpose of their own satisfaction. He said the cleft was bad..how he knew this I don't know cause he only glanced inside of his mouth..he ran no tests no x-rays and I couldn't hardly even get him to look at him or talk to me about him. He treated me like total crap. He basically was in a hurry to cut the tails of the other ones and remove their dew claws. He charged me for seeing the mama as well..when all he did was pick her up turn her over and try to sat her back down. I stopped him from that cause i wanted to know about her bottom teats..only then did he feel them once and say they are fine.. I'm so dissappointed. I was so looking forward to some advice and some help and got nothing but negative replies. His advice to me was to put him down he wasn't worth saving..I DISAGREE..

| That is horrible! I hate vets that say such hurtful things to people. Yes, they can give their opinion on what they think should be done...but it's up to you! A good vet would have said what they thought and when you didn't want to put him down (I wouldn't either!!) they should be more than helpful with any questions you ask...after all you are paying them!! I would write them a letter at least and state what I thought if I were you! It's so sad that good vets are so hard to find! We drive either 1/2 hour or an hour for ours...there are two good vets in our area. One we go to if we have to makes themselves sound like salesmen with all the stuff they try to push on you. At some I have had the wrong diagnosis given and even one suggested an unneeded surgery. Sounds like you need a 2nd opinion!! Wendy

| I am going to get a second oppinion..I agree with you. My vet doesn't push meds heck i can't get anything even when they need it half the time. I don't understand why he is being this way. It makes no sense. I thought they were supposed to save lives. I thought about writing him a letter. I wanted so bad to tell him in there what I thought but at the same time. I know if you say ill things to someone it will come back on you. Every damn time I say something mean to someone I always get it back and worse. So I'm going to just pray. I'm going to pray that god opens his eyes and his heart. That he shows him what it was that first drew him to want to be a vet. I want to get mad but I know it's not going to solve anything. He could care less what I think of him. I did tell him..that brody was my hope and he said his first and only nice thing he had said to me. He said well your doing a good job..keep it up..

| I am sorry it did not go well for you today at the vet. Just know that we are still pulling for you and the little guy. You asked earlier what the indications for pneumonia were and if he would survive it. I think probably one of the first signs would be a rattling in his chest and body temperature. Be aware of any changes in his temp. Let his momma lick him over good after you feed him. Her stimulation all over will help burp him and maybe help him get some of the milk back up that may have gone down the wrong way. I think if you get him past the two week mark, you may really have a good chance of keeping him...we are all hoping and praying for the best!

| BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Hi Christy... I'm glad your going to get a second opinion, but it's a shame you had to waiste your time in there, I sure would write a letter to this guy and give him a piece of your mind and make sure you tell him you will never let your dogs be seen by him again!!! This is just very disturbing! |

| Brody doesn't need that vet..Brody has you and you believe in him 110%. You are giving him every possible chance he can get. I would definitely get a 2nd opinion..maybe even a 3rd. Find someone who actually wants to give him the CHANCE he deserves! They will help y ou so much more than that a**hole.. Sorry..I'm all riled up.. Were all praying for Brody if he's strong enought o pull through and he's given that chance, he will..

| I cant believe your vet!!! Everybody deserves a chance. Hope you find someone to help you, I think you are doing a great job! Just because they dont normally survive does not mean they wont! There are lots of people who survive without surgery, they dont always have surgery for cleft palate in some countries. Is he putting on weight ? We will keep Brody in our thoughts if Buttons can do it so can he.

| too bad I can't take all of you back to that vets office with me lol.. I think what I probably should do is just get on the phone and start calling vets. I am sure the has to be one vet out there that will help me. All I need is a place to take him if he gets sick or something goes wrong. I'd be too afraid to take him back to that vet or to a vet that won't support what i'm doing. Brody is 1 week today. OH and remember that thread that I started "to dock or not to dock" remember when I said on there that I prefer to dock that I liked that look..Guess What...I have a yorkie with a tail...lol I didn't have his tail docked or dew claws removed yesterday..I ate them words didn't I lol.. So now I too will have a yorkie with a tail and dew claws..boy I need to start watching what I say..that stuff comes back on ya lol.. I just couldn't bring myself to put him through anymore so I left him the way he was born.
