| My Kissie is mom for the first time Kissie and her daughter. She is one month old. Her name is Gigi. She is not a purebred yorkie as her mom because her dad is my chihuaha. So she is a chorkie. But I think she will be very cute as her parents and I am keeping her anyway. My friends tell me I am crazy because I have 3 dogs but yes I am a crazy dog lover. But I have to neuter my chihuaha. Do you think is dangerous so late, he is 4 years old. Any advice is welcome. Last edited by vivi; 01-12-2013 at 11:41 AM. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | My dog was not neutered until he was two years old. Many people don't neuter their dogs until they are older. As long as he doesn't have any pre-existing medical conditions that might compromise his health if he were to go under anesthesia, neutering him at the age of four should not be dangerous at all. My vet told me that the area might swell more than a puppy being neutered (but only for a couple of days) and they might be a little more sore, but it isn't dangerous and you should get pain meds for him from your vet when he is neutered so that shouldn't be an issue. So all in all it shouldn't be dangerous. Your Yorkie is such a cutie and of course babies always are =D! I've never owned three dogs before ... good luck with raising your little puppy! | Wow what cuties you have there!! In relation to getting the chihuahua neutered. He is still young enough to get it done. My vet recommended for my Mam's Jack Russell that if you are going to get a dog neutered get it done before the age of 7 as the aneasthetic can be dangerous to a dog the older it gets. The neutering won't change your dog's behaviour at his age now but will still protect against getting prostate cancer. Hope that helps. Best of luck with the little pup

| Beautiful little family you have there! I think your pup will change, I see what look like golden tones under the dark. I love how the paw tips are white. Very cute baby!

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | They are all so cute. There is not a problem with neutering him. Also talk to your vet if you have any reservations
