Miracle Babies

Today, Riley, Hope, Faith and Baby Grace turned 9 weeks!!! Last weeks shots did not go too well and I have had problems with them since then. They were all eating fine prior to the shots but since then and them having a reaction to the shots we went back to me having to feed them. Had a few scary days with a couple of them and their gums turning white. Was able to quickly resolve the problems but getting them to eat was hard. Now they seem to be eating again but not like it was. All have been playing well but I have had to keep them confined in the small room till they started eating again.

Today they all got to go into the living room and play since they were doing so good. Still have a few that want to be picky but no more white gums so we are doing better.

Momma has been really snappy with the puppies for the last several weeks. When we went to the vet last week he said she was tired of being the mom and she was free to go back to Sara. She did get to go and stay the night and did great. When she came back she wanted only to see the puppies but not be with them. She still is snapping at them a lot so we have decided that she is ready to go home. She is supposed to be going with Sara's husband on Wednesday when he goes to see her. Don't know if she will stay with her then or come back with him. She will still come over since but will now be living back at her new home.

Faith got to go for her 2nd playdate at her new home today and took Riley with her. They had a lot of fun and she is quite at home there. Won't be long before she will be at her new home.

Baby Grace is doing much better. She has calmed down since her reaction and not feeling well. She has become more of a clingy little girl than what she was. Just breaks my heart when she cries when I leave the room. LOL

Riley and Hope are doing great also. Hope loves to run around and play. She likes to know what everyone is doing. LOL Riley is just so laid back and still loves to roll over and let you rub his tummy. His new favorite toy is a makeup brush!!! He will play with it forever if you let him. Guess he has been around too many girls. LOL

Happy 9 week birthday to the little darlings. They are adorable and so fluffy and playful. They look so active, they must really keep you busy looking after them.

Sorry the shots gave them such a bad time, but hopefully that is getting better now.

The was Baby Grace digs in the food bowl reminds me of Meika and Kayla doing that in their water bowl. They made such a mess.

Thanks again for posting movies, it is wonderful to see their progress.

Just wanted to update everyone on what has been going on. Riley has found him a home to a wonderful couple about 5 hours from me. He will have a sister who is 3 to play with. She is a daddy's girl so momma needed a momma's boy. And yes, she will get that with him. He is such a layed back lap baby. Breaks my heart that he will leave but I know he will be well loved and spoiled. He is planning to leave on May 2nd.

Still trying to find the perfect parent for little Hope.

Bella got to go with her daddy yesterday to surprise Sara. She had no idea she was coming. They stayed the night with her and Sara called me crying. She sure missed that little girl.

So other than that, all is well. My roses have bloomed so going to get pics of the puppies in front of them. Just have to wait for someone to help hold them since they can't run around outside yet.

Tammie, bless your heart for taking such good care of the babies. I can't even imagine how hard it will be to let them go, cause you didn't set out to be in this position in the first place. But you have done a good job of pre-spoiling and lovin' them, which will make them delightful pets for lucky owners.

And, you will have Baby Grace forever giving lots of lovin right back to you.

SO CUTE!!!! Oh, Lord... I can't believe hope still hasn't found a new home. Breaks my heart because I am completely smitten by her but can't take her in ... argh!!! I want to cry ='( I just wish she finds the best home ever for her entire life!

I so totally agree. She would have been my pick of the litter. She is just adorable. I can't talk the hubby into adding her to our family. I sure hope that she will go to a very special home that can give her lots of love. Please be very picky as to who will be lucky enough to have her.

Got a lot of inquiries from people but once I mentioned the spay/neuter contract then I never heard from them again. Guess they were looking for a breeding dog and I WILL NOT allow any of these to go through that if even if it costs me everything I have. Her special home is out there...until then she is just fine staying with me. Will keep everyone updated when I know something.

Now on a different note....I just wanted to post what Riley's new mom had to say in her last email. I am so thankful he will have a wonderful home.

Hi Tammie!

I cannot even tell you how excited I am to have Riley come live with us! I have looked for him for a very long time. I do like the name Riley, it really seems to fit him. So we will leave it as that.

I have had Cockers, corgis, heelers, and presently have 2 jack russells. I have wanted a little bundle of love for a long time but we always lived in the country with predetors around. But now, we have moved to town and I have a safe place for Riley. He will live in the house with me. I am sooooo excited. I have a small enclosed yard so he will be safe there too.

I have been reading about the care of Yorkies and Maltese. I know I will need to brush Riley. What kind of brush do I need to get? It looks like there are many to choose from. And grooming? I raised sons, and working dogs, horses, cattle, I am very excited to have some "foo-foo" in my life. Can't wait!!!!

Thanks so much for the pictures and videos. I watch the videos a couple of times a day. Did I mention.....I AM EXCITED!

I will understand your tears, but know how much I will love Riley and how long I have been wanting him. I knew I would know which little puppy was for me, and I found your Riley. I will keep in touch with you so you can see how he grows. Thank you so so much!!!

So glad to hear you are requiring a spay contract on Hope. I have to admit that when I got my Brandy, my husband and I talked about breeding her so we could make back what she cost us. Our vet strongly advised us against breeding her due to the large chance of her needing a c-section as well as other complications. I also read about the increase in breast cancer for yorkies who have been bred even once. We decided that we love her too much and she is too important to even consider the risks of breeding her. We had her spay before her first heat. Yes, yorkie puppies are adorable, but my Brandy will always be my baby girl. I know Hope will be someone's precious baby too. Thank you for making sure that happens.

Hi Everyone,

Well week 10 came on Monday and I am still having problems with these little babies and the shots they had 2 weeks ago. After I finally got them to stop have a reaction to the shots they seemed to get diarrhea and it will stop for a day and start back up. Every day there are at least 1-2 of them with a problem. So the theme for this week is POOP. LOL

They have all had multiple butt baths this week and it is not over yet. We did put their shots off that they were supposed to get today. I have collected poop samples from 3 so far and I will take those in to the vet in the morning. They are still playing some but have their spells where they just want to stay in bed. Today was not a good day since three of them have it. So I will see what he says in the morning and if needed I will take them all it. When I called today he said to bring the samples in first and we would go from there. They are all still eating and drinking.

So...I have NO pictures so far this week. The video that I took will not upload on youtube so I can post it. Just not the best week. LOL I will get my camera back on Saturday and will get some pics of them then. My oldest daughter owns a doggy daycare and tomorrow they are having a free spay/neuter for pit bulls there and she wanted to take pics of the 62 dogs that will be coming there. On Saturday she is having an Easter egg hunt so I told her I would pick it up after that.

Other than that nothing else has changes. Riley is still leaving on the 2nd. Faith Ann will leave on the 8th and still working on a place for Hope. Well this is all pending on how they are doing as to when they can leave. If the next set of shots goes without problems then I will let Riley leave but if they have problems then he will stay around till he is better. Faith Ann is just going down the street and will still use the same vet so she will be able to go unless she is not feeling well.

Will update when I know something.
