Tinkerbelle's New Babies!!! Hoorray we had our first litter today!!! Thanks to Dee we got involved with these Beautiful Biewers and we finally had our first litter!!! 2 Girls... 1 Black & White and 1 Splitter like Mom... 2 Black and White Boys! All weighed 5 oz. and up... A few minor bumps to in the road this morning... Tink must have forgotten to wake me when her first 2 pups decided to enter the world... Poor little "Hercules" was left alone under the sofa, still in his sack... very cold while Tink dealt with her #2 pup... Thankful #2 decided to squeel and wake up Mom so I could help Tink get organized and get in her box!!! My son Wes found Herc and we rallyed to get him warmed up and breathing! Pups 3 & 4 showed up without a hitch and we have 4 very healthy and happy pups! Mom is doing great and is taking super care of her little bugs! We are all very excited for our new adventure! Thansk to all who post advice here. I don't know what I would do withou all the great information I find here on Yorkie Talk!!

Question? Thanks everyone for the warm wishes... I am wondering how much weight should a new puppy gain in the first week... All four have gained over 4 oz. since Sunday and poor Mommy is getting pretty drained!

I am certainly no expert in this area as I just had my first litter as well. My puppies were born on March 18th and they are now 16 days old. They have gained pretty steadily at nearly 1 ounce a day. I don't know if this is average or not. The 3 girls started out at just over 3 ounces and they boy at 5 ounces. The girls now weigh 13 and 14 ounces, and the boy is 1 pound 4 oz !! He just opened his eyes yesterday. Good luck with your new babies , they're beautiful !

Thanks for the information... Yesterday was 4 days old and they had all doubled in size!!! The 5.5 oz. Female topped the scales at 10.5 oz! I was worried that Mom was getting too drained but I am hearing that this is pretty normal! I can't believe they grow so fast!
