I wish you luck and I will pray everything gets better for Gracy and her babies. Hopefully the remaining pups will make it to full term and your female does not have any problems. I can't imagine the stress and worry you are going through right now!! |

I hope I am wrong...but it does sound like a placenta has prematurely separated from the uterus. Or she could possibly be passing a mummy (under developed, longdead puppy). Please keep us updated. I will be keeping good thoughts for you and your girl. |
well Gracie stopped discharging at around 11pm and she slept through the night. She started out in the basket next to me (I was on the couch) and in the middle of the night I woke up and the little booger had moved, I thought I had my hand on her when it was actually the rice mama and she was sleeping on my head. I'm waiting for the vet to open to see what he wants me to do. Still no fever but she hasn't pottied. I will be taking her to work with me. |
I stopped at the vets this morning to get an xray. the one they took was not clear at all so they will take another one when the vet comes in (he was on an emergency call at the zoo) So I left Gracie and Bella there and will talk to him within the hour. Bella started throwing up last night and still is this morning and won't eat or drink. It was FUN last night, gracie discharging and of course she would lick herself she would throw up so the poor baby had it coming out both ends and running to Bella 'cause she was throwing up, Cody, I guess because of everything going on was hicking his leg on everything!:mad::(..I'm exhausted lol |
oh wow, I hope your vet figures out whats wrong and can get her some help asap! Please keep us updated. |
ok, I'm back from the vet, we did 3 xrays and another ultrasound. this time on the ultrasound we didn't see anything:( what was a puppy yesterday was a blob today. So it seems that Gracie has aborted the puppy. The vet and I are holding out hope that MAYBE there is still one up in her ribs and that we can't see anything because it's too early to see on the xrays. I will take her back friday to have her checked and then again on the 10th for another x-ray and ultrasound and if there is nothing in there we will give the oxytocin to make sure she's cleaned out. What a friggin birthday this has turned out to be. oh Bella was checked out and given a shot of reglan for her belly. I finally got her to take some nutri-cal. |
Oh so sorry to hear this. Will be sending prayers for little Gracie for the other puppy. Let's hope little Mama pulls thru this okay.:( |
Thank you so much for your prayers. |
Awe poor babies. I hope Gracie is OK. Her mommy is doing all the right things so hang in there. |
Awww, my heart is breaking for you and Gracie. My thoughts are with you, and your furbaby. |
I am so sorry, I was afraid that might be what was going on. My heart goes out to you and Gracie, I will be send positive thoughts and prayers that she has more than one puppy in there. I hate that your birthday is bad, if it helps mine sucked also this year, it was the day I had to put Lexie's pup Magnolia down after she crashed, so I can relate with you on the birthday thing, but I hope you have a better day and great night. Hang in there!:( |
Sending postivie thoughts and prayer's for you and Gracie. I do hope there is one hiding so after all this stress you get at least one pup for Gracie. Good luck, |
Can someone explain to me why the vet wouldn't or doesn't go in and c-section the surviving pups when a mom starts aborting puppies or the placentas start detaching? Seems that when they tell someone to wait that they are just dooming the rest of the pups to the same fate. What am I missing? I just can't see that this is in best interest of the mama dog either. Thank goodness I don't breed. My hat is off to those of you who do. altigger74, I am so so sorry that you have to go through this, I couldn't even imagine. Send prayers to you and your baby mama. |

It is a tough situation however 3 weeks early means they will probably not be viable puppies. :( |
