Janet, the babies are soooo sweet. And the fact that your little girl is doing well at 10 oz. really gives me hope! Are you keeping this little one?

Out of Ruby's 7, there were 3 that were really small and not gaining. Now, when I say "really small" I'm talking about 4 oz. I know that isn't small for a lot of you, but to me it was TINY. Most concerning was their little ribs were sticking out and I couldn't seem to get them to nurse enough even when I removed the other puppies. I used Nutri-Drops and supplemented after nursing. I got the 2 girls back on track but am still working with little purple boy. He goes up and then right back down. But he is only 4 days old, so I know I shouldn't expect too much just yet.

Geez Katelin, didn't know you were having issues. You're doing the right thing so just keep up the good work. I know it is worrisome and tiring.
My tiny girl is 3 weeks and I still have to help her get some teat time, the others are so big compared to her they keep knocking her off. She just doesn't have the might to get in there and fight for it on her own.

I know, by the time purple boy fights his way to the nipple, he's lost the energy to nurse. He is a fighter, just out-numbered.

Funny how you just have an affinity for some puppies. I love little purple boy and also little pink girl. Mom's aren't supposed to have favorites, but....
