I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | How to Use YorkieTalk How to Use YorkieTalk YorkieTalk was created for the love of Yorkies. The founder wanted to learn more about their care and wanted to allow people to share stories, pictures, and knowledge about this wonderful breed. YorkieTalk membership has grown over the years, and so has the site. Learning to navigate it can be a bit overwhelming for some. Here are some tips to get the most out of YorkieTalk. We have many different forums, the General Forum is the busiest, and this is where you can post a thread introducing yourself to other members. General Yorkshire Terrier Discussion. To see all the forums visit the Index page: YorkieTalk Index Page. As you can see, there are many different forums that include such things, as "Sick and Injured," "Health and Diet," "Grooming" and many others. One overlooked forum is the YorkieTalk "How–to Guides", this forum has many threads, on how to do specific things on YorkieTalk, such as uploading pictures, or personalizing your profile page. YorkieTalk How-To Guides. To start a new thread, go to any of the appropriate forums, and look at the top of the page and you will see on the far left, the words, "New Thread," (See picture for details.) Just click on the words "New Thread", and you will be taken to a place to write your message. Don't forget to title your thread, and press, "Submit new thread." The little picture that is posted next to someone's name is called an "avatar"; this is different than the "profile picture" that is posted on your profile page. To upload a picture to use as your avatar, look at the top left hand side of the page, and you will see the words, "User CP," (See picture for details) Click on the words, "User CP" and it will take you to your "control panel" where on the left hand side of the page, you will see such options as "edit avatar" and "edit profile" picture." Click on one of these, and it will give you instructions on how to proceed, and also, the file limits of the pictures. A word about blogs; this is a feature that allows you to write a specific story or something that you think is interesting or valuable to others. It's more like a diary, and blogs are not meant to be used as the place where you introduce yourself to others, or ask questions, to do this, please use the appropriate forums as you will be able to get a better response. If all else fails, just click on someone's avatar, and it will take you to their profile page, where you can ask them for more help. Welcome to YorkieTalk!

| I decided to join Yorkie talk because all of my friends think that I am crazy with my yorkie. They tell me that I treat him like he is a baby. But, he is my baby and I love him.. |

| Timeout What is the length of the timeout feature? I get very frustrated trying to reply to a thread only to find that I have timed out before I finish my post. Do you recommend that I use a word processor to compose my postings and then copy and paste to the forum? |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I've never even noticed the timeout feature. I'll forward your question to admin, and maybe they can answer you. The word processor is a good idea, you will have unlimited time if you do it that way.

Administrator | The timeout period is 15 minutes, so if you have not done anything on YorkieTalk in the past 15 minutes, the site thinks you are "inactive". For longer posts, we do suggest you save what you write either in a Word or text document, just in case. |

| Not sure if this is where I ask this, but here goes. I am a newbie and just tried posting a response to the general discussion forum. I think it was entitled NEWBIE and was posted by Patti H about getting her puppy and socializing it with her yellow lab. When I tried to post my response it said that it had to be approved by an administrator. Would you know why? I have posted already with no problems. |
