| Thanks so much! I would REALLY rather not ship them! I am hopeing to find one close, but I will drive like up to 5 hours! I wouldn't think that would be necessary... but who knows! Maybe it is! |

| Have you tried the Yorkshire terrier association & looked under breeders? If not that, can you go to a dog show & talk to some of the breeders there? I have bought one puppy from a byb & one from a show breeder. I would definitely go with the show breeder again. Also, please try not to take it before 12 wks. I took one at 9 weeks & there is a lot of difference. Good luck & hang in there. It will be worth your wait |

| Hi.... sorry, I just noticed this thread. I'm not usually visiting the Yorkies for Sale section. I just wanted to tell you to steer clear from a lady named Betty that is in the Houston area. You can find way more than you ever wanted to know at this thread...... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=293 Read it over (it'll take a while!) so you're familiar with the names of the people to stay away from. I did get my Tatum in the Houston area but for reasons I won't get into here, I don't really recommend that breeder anymore. I got really, really lucky with Tatum but I'd hate to send you to her to have a bad experience, which could likely happen. Other than those two people, I have no other leads (or warnings) about any other breeders in that area. Hopefully you'll find what you're looking for soon. You may just need to wait until you move here and start talking to people.

| Did you start off looking in the YT Nursery? Many times the pups don't even make it to the For Sale threads because they see the baby pictures and pm/email the breeder to discuss purchasing early on. Not that they let the pups go that early, but you can get an idea of what the breeder is like, what the parents look like, other litters etc. Then there is the For Sale or Wanted thread. Anyone can sell on And the Featured Breeder thread. Special requirements here. You can do a search in the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America for TX. I have a long list of breeders. I look on the breeder's links and they ususally have other breeders that they approve of on there. Then come back and ask in the Breeder Review thread if anyone has done business with them... but give it a couple of days for people to respond. Alot of the breeders and show people are gone over the weekends. Is there anything else that you're looking for in your new baby? Good Luck and keep us posted!

I want a female, 5-7 lbs (I don't want a really little one) and really those are my only requirements of the dog specifically. | |
