this confusess me ,he is a 5lb dog not a 100lb dog! i understand a child coming 1st but .....trying to sale an agressive dog because he doesn't know how to behave for much more than what was payed for him does not set a good example for a child and doesn't seem to be the best thing for anyone at all! an older ckc reg yorkie wouldn't normally sale for $750 even if he is a tiny and one with behaviour problems well be less attractive to anyone looking to buy a good pet yorkie! the dog need to be taken into consideration here not the wallet, there are more important things than money! when a person takes on the responsibility of having a pet it's your responsibility to take care of the pet no matter what! i hope i don't get in trouble for this but thats what i think! |

:goodpost: :yeahthat: is exactly how I feel, I do pray this little fellow winds up in the right hands - b/c he is only a dog and he doesn't have much say in the matter :( |
I just read this whole thread....paid $350.00 and selling for $750.00 ??? That sounds alot like Brokering to me - sorry. He does need a home where someone will love him, but the asking price is that of a new puppy with no issues. There's lots of people that would love a re-homed dog but as I saw stated previously - not at that price. Making money shouldn't factor into this .... his welfare should be the motivating factor and I do hope you re-consider your price....it sounds like he could have a possible home already if the price was right. |

My post was not about why you are all upset with her. People were even blaming the breeder for having too many animals. And were also blaming the current owner for not training him right. I was just trying to make a point that she had no idea she would be getting a dog that needed extra special attention, and it was no ones fault for the dog being aggresive. I read ALL the posts, and it is all of YOU who have attitudes. I agree that $750 is too much to ask for him. But if you all think that this dog is suffering SO BAD, and you are all about "saving" him, then why don't all you complainers put your money together to "rescue" him from his horrible life. |

No one should have to pay that kind of money for him.......and no one will! If no one will...........where will he end up? All I care if for his welfare. |

The two bits I've colored red from your post---- they are directly conflicting statements and concerns. It's confusing. Your last statement about us putting our money together is as un-realistic as the original poster's pricing. You are a new member. Is there a reason you join boards where you spend time and energy and yet don't like what's going on on them? I prefer to spend my time and energy on boards where I have common interests wth what's going on. Of course, like all communities/families, differances happen, but you seem to have a general disliking of us. |

I think so too :( |
While I agree that $750 seems high for an aggressive adult yorkie, I disagree with the sentiment that NO ONE would pay that price for him. The original poster was honest about his issues. That couldn't be easy. I'm not sure of her reasons for charging what she is, but believe if she finds someone who is willing to pay that she has also found someone who is willing to devote the right kind of time/attention to him. I've rescued and plan on rescuing all my dogs from here on out, and let me just say, unless you go to the pound, the rescue fees, even for a dog with special needs, are higher than you might imagine. My Bernie, an unregistered, adult, teapot yorkie, complete with special needs, cost more than you'd think to adopt from a rescue. And that was after they dropped the adoption fee by $150 after meeting with us. I guess I'm just saying, lets give the original poster a break. If you think you can provide the right home but the price is too high for you, send her a pm...she might be willing to work something out for the RIGHT home. |
I do not want to make enemies but I was on a rescue site the other day and saw the cutest tiny man..anyway i read that there adoption fees goes from 250-750 depending on size, health etc..so I dont think 750 would be too out of hand, except for the fact she only paid 350 for him...usually you sell for less than you paid and take a loss..thats usually what i see....jmo dont be mad at me lol |
Credit goes to the original poster for being HONEST about the dog's aggression issues. However, the asking price by itself was most perplexing....much less when the true cost of the dog was revealed. Aggressive animals are the most difficult to rehome. Between training and neutering, the new owner is going to be looking at immediately pouring a lot of money into the dog. If it was mine, I would GIVE it away to a home I knew was going to give him a better chance. |
