I have read alot about the "Chocolate" Yorkie, and it is actually a mutation in birth w/ an over load of red/gold...Do not be fooled into thinking it is a "Rare" find and pay alot for them...I have seen this on many not so reputable sights and they ask $3,00.00+...Just do your research and do not be taken...Good Luck, yml

Let me start by saying that I really couldn't care less about Chocolates one way or the other. (or parties, or the likes)

Although I think it is ridiculous to charge an arm and a leg and capitalize off of their uniqueness, I'm curious as to why everyone is so up in arms about them being referred to as "RARE." They are in fact 'rare' aren't they? Maybe it is just when it is used as a marketing term?

Just thinking out loud...

You can not register words such as tea cup or micro mini.....They are all a Yorkshire Terrier no matter their size.

Sure you can register them with AKC. It just takes a little longer is all. I finally got AKC to register one of my pups as Chocolate this past year. Usually they are registered as liver and tan. Now that they have set a precidence, think maybe I will be able to more registered as chocolate in the future!

Holy cow! I sell my chocolates for $1000.00 and have people tell me that is a lot. But I don't have too much trouble selling them

. Those prices are crazy. I mainly sell them a little high cause most of the time if people are willing to spend the $$$$$$ and travel some to get them, (I live out in the country) usually they really, really want one and will take good care of them. That's been my experience anyway!

None of my yorkies have ever had any health problems from being bred chocolate either. If I could figure out how to post a picture I would let you see my 2 month old fem,ale chocolates, they are very pretty!

I think somewhere on this site .. maybe frequently asked questions they will tell you how to resize the images and post them! It took me a while to learn!

yea they are very pretty. I only have one left, she sure will be lonley when the others go to their new homes.

But there are plenty of others to play with around here, and she's getting big enuf to come out and play with them for short periods now!
