I've seen several "larger" yorkies for 500.00 and in fact I have seen several on this very board go for less than that. I do hope you find your perfect baby, don't give up, it is possible. | |

| BamaFan121s, I hope you didn't take offense to what I said, I wasn't trying to be offensive. I understand and agree with your opinion they are harder to find, especially from a good breeder who knows what they are doing.I know you have to watch the "lower" priced ones because backyard breeders will sell them for 400-500 dollars but you'll end up with a boat load full of vet bills for heatlh problems! If you are patient and look though you can find a bigger (6-7) pound yorkie in the price range you are looking for that is healthy and comes from a reputable breeder. |

I wanted (well still want) to find a dog park or something somewhere in the middle of us so we actually CAN meetup.. what do you guys say? let me know if you guys are willing to drive.. maybe we can carpool?.. that way I can find someplace in the middle.. as for the us who live closer to each other.. I am in a yorkie meetup which has been postponed till Spring or whenever it gets warm.. so I'll let you know when she has the meetings back up.. or we can make one of our own.. just for YT members

| Hey everyone. I talked to Issa.... before and I even sent you a video. Did you get it? I still have a boy Yorkie puppy available for sale. He is so cute and I named him Pikachu....he loves it. I say PIIKA, PIKA!!! And he just runs to me all excited. He's going to be a bigger yorkie, he was at 4.5 lbs at 11 weeks. This is his 12 week. He is a good eater and loves to crunch on dry dog food. His mom and dad and younger brother have lots of fun with him. I wish he would stay a puppy and then I would keep him...but we all know that they grow...and we can't have 4 dogs in a house...that's nuts. LOL. Although you are looking for less than 500 dollars, he is at 650. We live in chicago...pretty close to midway airport. and this puppy is well socialized with other dogs and people. They are never caged, or left alone, etc. They have the entire kitchen and my parents bedroom to run around and play. A person from yorkie talk purchased the girl last week...she named her Sophie....and is very happy with her. The puppies all had their first check up and shots and are potty trained (they pee on paper 95% of time, but sometime they poo anywhere, lol. ) You are not going to find a good, healthy puppy for less than 500 unless he has been rejected by owners, or there is somethign wrong with him that will cost you vet money later on. The time and effort that we put into our dogs and puppies is way beyond the 650 asking price. Plus we are located so close to you that it would be a breeze getting him. Everyone wants a girl for some reason, when the boys are even better becuase they dont get periods and once you neuter them, they become such babies...want to be picked up and held and cuddled. I just love my doggies. |

| Here is what the buyer, ditsy, who purchased our girl last week wrote beneath my ad on yorkietalk : ditsy Senior Yorkie Talker Join Date: Apr 2005 Posts: 95 Default I'm the one who took the female puppy and I just wanted to write about my experiences with Maggie, her family and the dogs and pups. Maggie was very helpful during our several days of communication, giving me full and informative answers to all my questions. I couldn't of asked for more. Sophie (the girl I picked up) has been confirmed by two vets (mine & maggies) that she is indeed a healthy girl with all the signs of growing up to be a healthy dog. Not only is she healthy but very well socialised, I met the whole doggie family and while Mum is a little high strung and obviously doesn't like strangers in the house and around her pups however the other dogs in the house are no worse the wear for Mums behavior. Dad is a monster of a dog, but so adorable, friendly and warm. If he had fitted in my bag I think I might of taken him too. All the pups I saw were very well socialised and Sophie wont let my lap go cold if I sit where she can reach me. All the dogs we saw were really snuggle monsters and love having their bellies rubbed while curled up in your arms or on your knee. They are larger than standard, Sophie is almost 5lbs at nearly 12 weeks, I imagine she will be at least 15lbs fully grown having looked at the parents and her bone structure. But this is what I wanted and I think the price is VERY fair for Yorkie of this caliber. Sophie has had no problems settling in, and started eating immediately (such a joy to see as my other dog is terrible at eating and has to be watched daily to make sure he eats) and has already stolen the heart of my Jacob (he brings her food gifts). I would have no hesitation to recommend someone taking a look at the little male pup that is left. Photo below of Jacob and Sophie. Jacob is a 6lb Yorkie (fully grown) Sophie is the darker of the two. | Ha ha, I grew up on the far northwest side of Chicago- Milwaukee and Austin... in between Jefferson Park and Super Dog (Dawg?) Went to Resurrection HS- ick!! Anyway, we got our 2 Yorkies from a breeder in Iowa. for the price of a rental car, a 4 hour drive out there we got 2 pups for the price of what Petland charged for one. And the satisfaction of knowing they were not puppy mill dogs. Teresa |
